Calendula and 3 sister companion planting progress pictures! The rain this week has been lovely but I'm definitely ready to see some sunshine again!
Today we inoculated our pathways with wine caps sawdust spawn from North Spore! We love to incorporate mushrooms whenever we can into our gardening ❤🌱🍄
I've always wanted a purple kitchen!!! Now for some good old organizing and to put the doors back on finally!
Yesterday Noah and I got creative after our gardening was done. We made a little outdoor sleeping area in the back of the property by the stream. Set up a tent and a queen sized air mattress cot. Moved my little snake plant in to make it a little more homey too 🥰 You can hear birds and cows and water right outside the windows and it is so peaceful 💚
Morning radish harvest with Noah ❤
Things are moving right along after last frost here at Fort Wilderness 🌱😊
Spring is in full bloom at Fort Wilderness!
Spring is in full bloom at the cabin!
March is a busy month!!! The plant corner is growing every day and we love it so much! I think what we're the most excited about currently are our strawberries 🍓. The raised beds are filled and in position in the garden. In two weeks we will be getting some serious straw bales and prepping them so they are ready for May when we plant all our outdoor crops :) We started hardening off our plants this week too!
Today Noah and I built a potting table in the corner of the living room and oh my goodness I am so happy 🥰 We started Garlic Chives today and transplanted our Nasturtiums into a 6.5 inch pot from their peat pods 🌱

Snowy days are the best 😊
A little mushroom adventure 💚
Some winter camping to reset from all the craziness of the last year ❄
2021 Resolution!
My resolution this year is to finally get rid of all of those single use items we use so often and replace them with reusable, natural, eco-friendly alternatives!
So it’s only the third week of January but so far I have swapped...
Colored sponges for compostable washable natural colored sponges
Loofa for an all natural vegetable fiber body sponge
Cotton squares (for makeup removing) for washable bamboo make up pads
Coffee Filters for a washable coffee filter basket
Lint roller for a ChomChom
Hand Soap for a refillable bamboo soap dispenser
Armor Hammer Laundry Detergent for Meyers Laundry Detergent Concentrate
Dawn Dish Soap for Meyers Dish Shop
Playtex Tampons for Organic plant based tampons
Dryer Sheets for Wool Balls (tip: put a few drops of essential oils on for a fragrance upgrade)
Everything is hyperlinked if there is any interest in researching the substitutes further yourself! Together we can lower our carbon footprint on the world.
Ps. I am merely just a young homeowner trying to be earth friendly with my lifestyle. If anyone has any suggestions for any more ways to switch from single use items to reusable items I am all ears and thank you in advance!
