Bayfield Task 001 ; Three Four of a KindÂ
Spike Spiegel - Cowboy BebopÂ
"I felt like I was watching a dream I'd never wake up from. Before I knew it, the dream was all over."
Aloof, detached, charming.Â
Aside from the obvious similarity that both Spike and Warren have sustained injuries to their right eyes (unfortunately Warren does not have a cool cybernetic eye to replace his injured one) and how both characters are highly skilled at using martial arts, Warren also shares many other personality traits with Spike. Both Warren and Spike drift aimlessly through life just trying to find where they fit into society after a catastrophic event changed everything for them. Warrenâs life seems to be almost episodic in nature, where he lives on day at a time with no real aspirations for the future. Also this short clip found here [ x ] really sums up both characterâs attitudes when faced with certain death.Â
Raylan Givens - JustifiedÂ
âEver get the feeling Godâs laughing at you?âÂ
Stubborn, authoritative, walking emotional disaster. Â
Like Raylan, Warren is able to keep his cool in most tense situations. Heâs very straight forward and blunt when speaking. Heâs a good man at heart, but his internalized rage threatens to consume him. Warrenâs done some questionable things in his past, but his mistakes were always made with the best intentions.
Geralt of Rivia - The WitcherÂ
âI've understood that the sun shines differently when something changes, but I'm not the axis of those changes. The sun shines differently, but it will continue to shine, and jumping at it with a hoe isn't going to do anything. We've got to accept facts, elf. That's what we've got to learn."
Cynical, worrisome, conflicted.
Both characters feel as though they do not belong in the world that they live in. Warren is very protective of the few friends and family heâs close with. He also tends to help out people that may not necessarily like him, but he does it anyways because he feels like itâs the right thing to do.Â
Shinji Ikari - Neon Genesis Evangelion / End of Evangelion: Death & RebirthÂ
âI must not run away.âÂ
Self destructive, nihilistic, closed off. Â
Shinji more so represents the formative years of Warrenâs life, when he was trying to establish his own self worth by doing what makes him happy rather than what his father/family wants for him. His self worth issues stem from the toxic environment in which he was raised. Warren tends to chose escapism rather than come face to face with reality. He constantly wants to be needed by others as a way of affirming his own value in himself.
