The War Approaching

With whispers of war creeping through the halls of Hogwarts, students are aggressively seeking both answers and safety. While some choose to ignore the threat all together and live in ignorant bliss, others refuse to wait around to fall victim to what might be lurking around the corner. Will these students be able to manage a normal life on the brink of madness? We will soon find out.

Mary Macdonald⇔Sixth Year⇔16⇔Muggleborn⇔Gryffindor ↳ Kind of looks like Sarah Bolger "My blood status doesn't change the fact I belong here. I fit in, in this world. No one can take that from me."

The Story: Mary never felt like she belonged, even in her loving family of five, she felt alone. She felt like she never fit in with the kids in her neighborhood and when she played with them, strange things usually started to happen. For a long time Mary thought she was just a freak who would never belong anywhere. But ever since Mary got her letter at age eleven and stepped onto the train, she has known that this is where she had always belonged. She loved everything about this world, and wanted to completely submerge herself in it's traditions. Until she found out that other witches and wizards aren't always friendly to people born from two muggle parents. This however, never stopped Mary from learning all she could.  When she's not training on the Qudditch field, or relaxing in the common room. You can find Mary walking through the forest, or studying in the greenhouses talking in the magical plants and creatures around her. Her skills, friendly nature, and natural curiosity make Mary a girl to watch out for.

The two love to discuss muggle-things and make references that the rest of their friends just don't understand.  ↳Olivia Bones- One of other Chasers on the Gryffindor team, the two get along great and they are often seen training together on the Quidditch field.  ↳James Potter- Her Captain, Mary has a great amount of respect for James and the two are good friends.

Olivia Bones⇔Fifth Year⇔15⇔Half-blood⇔Gryffindor ↳ Kind of looks like Sophie Turner "Being alone means no one can break your heart."

The Story: Being the youngest out of the three Bones children, Olivia learned from a young age that bad things can happen to good people.  At the age of seven, Olivia's muggle father abandoned his wife and children, leaving Olivia's mother as nothing but a heartbroken mess.  Mrs. Bones refused to believe that her husband was gone, she was in complete denial.  The woman rarely left her bedroom, and her three children were left alone on most occasions.  However, Edgar took on the role of fathering his two younger sisters, since their mother was a wreck and their real father was nowhere to be found.  Together, the three Bones children cooked, worked, and played together, while their grief-stricken mother seldom joined them.  Olivia and her siblings, especially Edgar, were very close up until Edgar's eleventh birthday.  When the eldest brother left for Hogwarts, he left behind his two lonely sisters with their psychotic mother. Olivia still resents him for leaving to this day.

To Edgar and Amelia's surprise, Olivia was sorted into Gryffindor rather than Hufflepuff, when she finally reached the age of eleven and joined her siblings at Hogwarts.  This was no surprise to Olivia, nor did it upset her that she wouldn't be with her siblings.  Once Edgar and Amelia left for school, Olivia was heartbroken.  However, she realized that if she distances herself from people, no one will break her heart like her siblings did.  At school, Olivia was not the social butterfly that Edgar and Amelia were.  She prefers to make and hold a few close friendships, rather than making many acquaintances.  She is very picky about the people she chooses to let past her walls, for fear that one day they will break her heart.  

Olivia found herself when her friend and housemate James Potter invited her to go to Quidditch tryouts.  She had never felt more at home than she did riding a broomstick, and immediately found her passion for Quiddich.  After learning to fly and practicing the game with James, Olivia earned herself the position of chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team.

↳Edgar Bones-  Edgar and Olivia were very close when they were children.  Olivia looked up to him as a role-model, and wanted to be just like her brother when she was older.  Everything changed when Edgar left for school.  To this day, she resents him for leaving her with their mother, and tries to avoid him in the hallways.  When Edgar tries to act protective over his sister, she ignores him and does what she wants, causing many arguments between the two. ↳ Amelia Bones-  Amelia and Olivia are on much better terms than Olivia and Edgar.  While Olivia and Edgar bicker constantly, Olivia and Amelia enjoy each other's company, and hangout from time to time.  Though Olivia doesn't want to get too close to her sister, for fear that one day she'll leave. ↳James Potter-  James was the first person who Olivia let in past her walls, and she considers the two to be best friends.  James taught Olivia how to fly a broom, and how to play Quidditch.  If it weren't for this boy, Olivia would have never found her passion for the sport.

Florence Baker⇔Fifth Year⇔15⇔Pureblood⇔Hufflepuff ↳ Kind of looks like Ellen Wong "Never underestimate the quiet girl.  She could be your best friend or your worst nightmare, one day.  She's a wildcard."

The Story: You could call it weakness, but I wouldn't.  Florence Baker was ten years old before she showed any sign of her magical abilities.  For the previous ten years, her parents worried that their only child was a squib, and wouldn't amount to anything in the wizarding world.  They were blown away, literally, at Florence's tenth birthday party.  When the young girl blew out the candles, she produced a powerful wind storm, right in the middle of the Baker's living room!  Florence was frightened by her own powers, but her parents were beyond relieved; and a bit impressed that their daughter could conjure such powerful magic.  One year later, Florence received a letter to Hogwarts, where she was sorted into Hufflepuff house.

Throughout her years at Hogwarts, Florence had trouble in most of her classes.  She did miserably at charms and defense against the dark arts, due to the fact that no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't produce magic on que; even with a wand.  This has caused poor Florence to have trouble making friends.  She is constantly teased for being a "squib" by Bertha Jorkins.  However, at random moments, when Florence is experiencing pure happiness, rage, or fear, she produces powerful magic, at which none her age could ever think to create.  Ever since the accident where Florence nearly lit the Hufflepuff common room ablaze, she has been practicing controlling her magic in secret.  She hopes to one day be able to control her powerful magic, and for once, be accepted by her peers.

↳  Bertha Jorkins-  Bertha Jorkins has been picking on and teasing Florence since her first year at Hogwarts.  Florence despises the Hufflepuff princess, and wants nothing more than to see Bertha wind up with a case of dragon-pox.  Or, anything that would knock Bertha down from her high-horse.

↳ Caradoc Dearborn-  Caradoc has been friends with Florence since the two met on the train in Florence's first year.  He is the only one Florence can talk to about her magical abilities, since he never judges her.  The two are close friends and created a strong bond that has yet to be broken.

↳ Bellatrix Black-  Bellatrix and Florence's relationship is complicated to say the least.  Bellatrix has seen the magic that Florence is capable of, and wishes to use the young girl to her advantage.  However, Florence looks up to Bellatrix as a friend, and doesn't realize that the psychotic Slytherin wants to use her, rather than befriend her.

Narcissa Black⇔Fifth Year⇔15⇔Pureblood⇔Slytherin ↳ Kind of looks like Claire Hoult "Family is the most important thing in this world. If I look bad, my family looks bad and I won't allow anyone to tarnish the Black family name."

The Story: Regal, refined, royal. All these things and more come to mind when thinking of Narcissa Black. The youngest of the Black sisters, Narcissa is a very proud young woman who can come off as a bit of an ice queen and tends to love her family's name, traditions, and nobility more than she loves her actual family members. She is a true believer in blood purity, and only surrounds herself with people she finds worthy of her time. Narcissa is a pampered princess without being overly bratty. Instead of shouting and making a scene Narcissa prefers to eliminate her threats with subtlety. Making them regret the day they ever crossed her while giving them no proof that she was the one who set their world on fire. Narcissa also turns up her nose at most boys, preferring to tease rather than hop in the sack with anyone unworthy of her, and as of late she has decided almost no one is worthy of her.

Significant Relationships ↳Bellatrix Black- Narcissa is very close with her older sister Bellatrix, the two bond over their shared beliefs and love spending time together. But Narcissa thinks the Bellatrix's abrasiveness is sometime a bad reflection on the family.  ↳Andromeda Black- Or as Narcissa affectionately calls her, Adora. The two have a warm relationship, but they are nowhere near as close as Bellatrix and Narcissa. This doesn't really bother Narcissa though because she thinks of Adora as kind of a lone wolf.   ↳Elizabeth Reynolds- The relationship with Elizabeth Reynolds is one of the most complex relationships Narcissa has. Narcissa both loves and hates the older girl, who seems to be one of the only people Narcissa can't see right through. The power struggle between these two has turned into a relationship of mutual respect and dare we say, admiration.

Emma Vanity⇔Fifth Year⇔15⇔Pureblood⇔Slytherin ↳ Kind of looks like Shay Mitchell "V is for Vanity." 

The Story: Born into a wealthy pureblood family, Emma was both the youngest and only girl, so all of the attention was shifted to her the second she was born. Her mother was a famous painter who worked from home and spent every second of every day stroking Emma's ego. And her father, a famous actor, provided the luxurious lifestyle and taste for the finer things that is so common among pureblood children.  Emma was raised thinking she was the best, the brightest, and the biggest star in the world. She was taught from a young age that 'no' just wasn't something you said to her. She gets what she wants and she wants it all. Men, women, money, fame, there seems to be no end to her wish list  But for some reason, nothing seems to be filling the void she feels inside. Behind the glitz and glamour, Emma Vanity is a sad insecure little girl, who thinks her worth stems from her money, her beauty and other people's opinions of her. All of these emotions  are trapped in the body of spoiled brat. But according to Emma who needs self-esteem when you've got great shoes?

Significant Relationships ↳Lucinda Talkalot- Lucinda is like Emma's little kitten, Emma sees her as  both an affectionate pet and friend. Which is why she often gets in the way of Rita's mild torment when it comes to Lucinda.  ↳Rita Skeeter- Emma’s massive ego is only complemented by Rita’s sensationalist attitude. The two feed into each other. Keeping the compliments flowing like firewhiskey all while knowing that at any moment each one could turn on the other.

Edgar Bones⇔Seventh Year⇔17⇔Half-Blood⇔Hufflepuff ↳ Kind of looks like Eddie Redmayne "I will always put my family's needs before my own.  It's my duty to keep them safe."

The Story: When Edgar was only nine years old, his muggle father abandoned his mother and their three children, leaving Edgar as the man of he house.  Edgar was always super protective over his two younger sisters, Amelia and Olivia, and did his best to keep them out of trouble.  Edgar took on the role of raising his younger sisters, while their mother distanced herself from her children out of grief. Family is the most important thing to Edgar, he puts his sisters and mother above everything else, including himself.  He was reluctant to leave to go to Hogwarts when he received his letter, for fear that his sisters would suffer due to their mother's neglect.  After she promised him that she would take care of Amelia and Olivia, and reminding him that education is of the utmost importance, Edgar hesitantly left for school.

Edgar's first year of Hogwarts was a lot easier than he had imagined.  He made friends easily with his good looks and friendly personality, and fit right in with his fellow Hufflepuffs.  Still, Edgar wrote home to Amelia every chance he could, and more homesick than anything. Things took a turn for the brighter side during the following year, when Edgar's sister and closest friend, Amelia came to school with him.  

For the next six years, Edgar chased after his sister, Amelia.  He has gotten her out of countless bad situations, fights, and trouble.  Though he loves them dearly, his obsession with protecting his sisters has lead Edgar astray from his own passions and interests.  Putting family over oneself may be the noble thing to do, but Edgar takes it to the next level.  Maybe Edgar's fatherly aura is what the Bones need, or maybe it has become too much to handle.

Significant Relationships ↳Amelia Bones- Edgar's younger sister and best friend.  The two are extremely close, and are always seen spending time together.  Though the two share a healthy sibling relationship, Edgar is extremely protective over his younger sister, and has pulled her out of fights on many occasions.  He hates the fact that she always gets herself into duels, and does everything in his power to keep her safe. ↳Olivia Bones-  The youngest child in the Bones family.  Olivia and Edgar hold  a very strange relationship.  While they both love each other dearly, Olivia and Edgar are butting heads constantly.  She disregards Edgar's attempts to protect her, and in his opinion, does whatever she wants without a second thought.  Edgar worries for his youngest sister, and wants to find a way to reach out to her more, in hopes of creating a relationship like his and Amelia's ↳Theodore Tonks - Edgar and Theodore became fast friends when they entered Hufflepuff for the first time, and their friendship has lasted. Edgar has defended Theodore more than once when he's been mocked for his blood status,

Bertha Jorkins⇔Sixth Year⇔16⇔Pureblood⇔Hufflepuff ↳ Kind of looks like Amanda Seyfried "Oh no.  Has anyone seen my wand?  I must have forgotten it somewhere."

The Story:

Bertha Jorkins is not the brightest bulb on the tree.  But what she lacks in brains, she makes up for in looks.  Bertha is considered to be one of the hottest girls in Hufflepuff house, and she know it, and uses it to her advantage.  There isn’t a rumor in Hogwarts that Bertha doesn’t know about, or isn’t behind.  She’s known to spread a juicy piece of gossip she picks up in the girl’s lavatory, all around the school like wildfire.   Or, she’ll tell it to her close friend Rita Skeeter, who will do the dirty work for her.  The moral of the story is, while Bertha may be a little dim, she knows how to play the game, and plays it better than anyone else in her house.  She uses her strengths to get what she wants, and hides her weaknesses.  

Being an only child may seem like a lonely life, but Bertha never had trouble making friends.  Making her friendships last, was always the hard part.  As soon as one of her friends would confide something in her, Bertha would blurt it out to the next person who came along; giving Bertha the label as someone who isn’t trustworthy.  Though she may not have the loyalty part down in being a Hufflepuff, Bertha is definitely not afraid of toil.  She takes her school work very seriously, when she remembers to do it.

↳Florence Baker-  Poor Florence has always been the center of Bertha’s bitter teasing.  Bertha targets the girl out, and always enjoys spreading made-up rumors to Rita, in hopes that they will get around the school.  Until the day that Florence gains the courage to stand up to Bertha, Bertha will continue to make fun of and ridicule her.

↳ Sturgis Podmore-  Sturgis is a familiar face that Bertha sees whenever she goes to parties.  He’s the go-to man whenever she needs a bottle of firewhiskey, or a drug that will give her some kicks.  The two are known for always showing up at parties, and drunk-dancing until the morning sun comes out.  Bertha has spent more than a few nights in Sturgis’ dorm room after parties.

↳Rita Skeeter-  Rita and Bertha became good friends after bonding over their love for juicy gossip, and stirring up drama.  When the two collaborate, you can bet that whoever the target of their vicious tormenting is, will most definitely be sorry they crossed these girls.

Sturgis Podmore⇔Sixth Year⇔16⇔Pureblood⇔Ravenclaw ↳ Kind of looks like Robert Sheehan "I’ve got buds, booze, and babes.  What else matters?"

The Story:

Sturgis Podmore was born the youngest out of three siblings.  Growing up in a family home where he was drilled by his parents that blood purity meant everything, he gained a disregard for authority at a young age.  While the rest of the Podmore family was sorted into Slytherin, Sturgis was sorted into Ravenclaw house.  Possibly, because of his clever wit and sarcastic sense of humor.  Sturgis is well-known throughout his house as well as the school for being handsome.  He has never had any trouble finding a date, or a cute girl to snog.     

Who has ever heard of a Ravenclaw with poor marks?  All of Podmore’s professors have, as he is nearly flunking every one of his classes.  Sturgis is a smart boy, however he chooses to apply himself to other, non-academic related subjects, like Quidditch.  Along with his best mate, Caradoc Dearborn, Sturgis plays chaser on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, and puts all of his time and effort into practice and strategies for winning the house cup.  Things became a little rocky for the young chaser when Professor Albus Dumbledore threatened to remove Podmore from the team if he did not get his marks up.  Still, Sturgis prefers a life of partying and fun, rather than studying for his exams.  He is the life of the party, and the go-to guy at Hogwarts if one were to ever need firewhiskey or pot.  Will Sturgis ever get his grades up and his life together?  Or will he keep partying on until he burns out?

↳Caradoc Dearborn-  Sturgis considers Caradoc to be one of his best mates.  They play together on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, and devise devious flying tactics and practice routines in hopes of bringing their team to victory over Slytherin.  Caradoc worries that Sturgis’ life of partying and lack of studying will end badly for him after graduation, but Sturgis always changes the subject whenever it is brought up.

↳Remus Lupin-  Remus is one of Sturgis’ good friends, and also someone he looks up to.  Remus is smart, responsible, and knows how to party as well as keep track of academics.  Sturgis tries to imitate Remus in a way, in hopes of finding the right balance between doing school work and having fun.

Lily Evans⇔Sixth Year⇔16⇔Muggleborn⇔Gryffindor ↳ Kind of looks like Holland Roden "A true friend will stick up for you no matter who, what, when, or where."

The Story: Little Lily Evans was born in Cokeworth, England, where she grew up with her elder sister, Petunia in a loving home with two muggle parents.  Lily, however, didn't know she was anything other than ordinary, until a young boy from the poor side of town approached her and told her so.  This boy, Severus Snape, became Lily's window to the wizarding world; which captivated and amazed her because of the fact that she was a part of it.  Mr. and Mrs. Evans could not have been more proud of their youngest daughter when she received her letter to Hogwarts school.  Petunia, however, grew greatly jealous of Lily, putting a strain on the two Evans' sisters' relationship.

Every class that Lily took captivated and fascinated her.  From growing up in a muggle family, she knew very little about the wizarding world; care of magical creatures was definitely more interesting than algebra.  Lily excelled in all of her classes, but mostly in charms and potions.  She gained the attention of Professor Horace Slughorn, who invited her to become a member of the Slug Club.  

No matter who it is, Lily will stand up to anyone who antagonizes or bullies one of her friends.  She cannot stand the sight of someone picking on someone else, regardless of their blood status of family.  She has gotten into many fights over her years at Hogwarts, defending those who have no one to stand up for them.  She honors friendship and love over everything else.

↳James Potter-  No other human being on the planet annoys Lily more than the ego-centric, arrogant, self-proclaimed Quidditch star, James Potter.  She despises the fact that James and his mates bully Lily's best friend, Severus; and has stuck up for Sev multiple times.  Though she hates that James can be cruel, she admires the fact that he sticks up for anyone bullied by Bellatrix Black and the gang of Death Eaters.  The two argue constantly, but are still somewhat friends.  Nonetheless, James and Lily carry on a flirty banter that is seen by everyone in the castle.  

↳ Severus Snape- Severus Snape was Lily's first friend from the wizarding world.  They met at a young age, when Severus approached her and told her that she was more than ordinary, she was a witch.  Lily spent her childhood with Sev, learning all about the magical world, which she would soon call her home.  Now, six years later, Lily worries about her childhood friend since he has been hanging around a more menacing crowd.  His fascination with the dark arts has put a strain on their friendship.

↳Alice Fortescue-  Lily's closest and most trusted friend.  The two met when Lily was sorted into Gryffindor, and they have been inseparable ever since.  Lily spends a month out of every summer holiday at the Fortescue family home, where she is always welcome.

Lucinda Talkalot⇔Fifth Year⇔15⇔Pureblood⇔Slytherin ↳ Kind of looks like Ashley Benson "Not all Slytherins are snakes in the grass." 

The Story: A mother, a father, two older sisters and three cats. The Talkalot household was always like a regal zoo, dripping in pearls, lace and animal prints. Lucinda's father worked for the Ministry and expected her two elder sisters to do the same, but her mother took Lucinda under her wing and showed her the fashion world. Lucinda was a regular at Fashion Week and dreams of being the world's greatest designer one day. Her ambition and wild dreams landed her in the Slytherin house but she hated the stigma that was attached to being a snake. While most people consider her house to be bad or evil, she remains a soft flower in the dark dungeons.  Lucinda is very skilled in charms, and loves to be around people. She is constantly dolling them up and making them feel better, no matter what they're blood status is, although she tends to hide the fact that she doesn't believe in blood purity from her peers. People tend to mistake Lucinda's kindness for weakness. However, just because she says 'bless your heart' to your face, doesn't mean she's against switching your teacups with nose-biting ones. After all, there is a fine line between being sweet and being a pushover.

Significant Relationships ↳Emma Vanity-Emma is much more affection to Lucinda then Rita. The two are closer, and Emma acts as kind of a shield between the other to girls. Lucinda is therefore very grateful for this.  ↳Rita Skeeter- Rita is the leader of the group and Lucinda is perfectly content letting her be. But she wishes she could trust her and confide in her without Rita using her secrets against her.

Caradoc Dearborn⇔Sixth Year⇔16⇔Pureblood⇔Ravenclaw ↳ Kind of looks like Donald Glover "You took the one thing that means the most to me in this world.  She’s gone, and now I’m left with only one thing to help fill the empty hole in my heart.  Revenge."

The Story: With family ties that lead back to the knights of the round table, Caradoc was very proud of his blood heritage.  However, he never let his blood status get to his head.  Caradoc grew up in a family home with two younger sisters, who he loves dearly.  From an early age, the three Dearborn children were taught that being pureblood didn’t make them better than anyone else; their own individual strengths did.   Caradoc was never one to judge a person based off their blood status, and he made many friends throughout his years at Hogwarts, regardless of their family heritage.  Mr. and Mrs. Dearborn were never prouder when their eldest child was sorted into Ravenclaw house, and became a chaser on the Quidditch team in his third year.  Caradoc enjoys flying with his friends, pulling pranks of first years, and getting high marks in all of his classes.

Hogwarts so far has done a good job of preparing Dearborn for the wizarding world, but it could not prepare him for the death of his youngest sister, Eileen.  The nine year old girl was a victim of a series of mass murders, conducted by a newly formed group that call themselves Death Eaters.  Stricken with grief when he heard the news, Caradoc blamed himself for being away at school, instead of coming home and protecting his family.  Ever since that fateful day, the eldest Dearborn child declared war on this group of blood-purists and their ominous leader, and plans to get revenge for the death of his sister.

Significant Relationships ↳Sirius Black-  Sirius Black had always been a figure to look up to for Caradoc.  He enjoys watching Sirius, James, Remus, and Peter’s many hilarious pranks, and considers the marauders to be somewhat heroes.  Sirius and Caradoc became friends after bonding over their similar beliefs about blood; that having pure blood shouldn’t entitle them to more privileges than someone who is muggleborn or half-blood. ↳Sturgis Podmore-  Sturgis was Caradoc’s first friend at Hogwarts.  They met in Caradoc’s first year when he was locked outside of the common room, and Sturgis came by and helped the young boy get past the portrait.  The two play together on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, and are obsessed with beating Slytherin this year, and winning the Quidditch Cup. ↳Theodore Tonks - Theodore and Caradoc met shortly after the death of Caradoc's sister, when Theodore tried to comfort the grieving Ravenclaw. Since then, the two have remained fairly good friends, offering support to one another in times of need.

Rita Skeeter⇔Fifth Year⇔15⇔Pureblood⇔Ravenclaw ↳ Kind of looks like Sasha Pieterse "Everyone has a secret that I want to sink my claws into." 

The Story: Rita has one mission in life: to know everything about everyone. Rita grew up in a world where her mother, a very popular actress was the star and her father pulled the strings to keep that star from ever falling. He would lie, sabotage and secretly ruin the competition so that her mother stayed on the top of her game.  And Rita learned from an early age that reputation is everything and when you have the ability to ruin someone else's reputation you can make them do anything. However, because of all the backstage work her father had to do Rita often found herself alone or dropped off at a friend of the family's house. Which really didn't bug her to much, because that meant she could listen in on everything they had to say.

Rita started journaling everything she saw or heard around the age of eight. This quickly grew into a love of writing and Rita wanted to be a reporter one day. As she grew up she mastered a very difficult branch of transfiguration and became an animagus. With the ability to be a beetle on the wall Rita is ready to flex her vocal cords this year and plans on keeping this place alive with juicy gossip both real and made-up.

Significant Relationships ↳ Lucinda Talkalot- Poor little Lucinda, Rita has her grip so tight on this sweet little Slytherin it's a wonder how the two can even call themselves friends. Behind the laughter and smiles, Lucinda knows all too well that sharing secrets with Rita is like handing her a dagger to stab you with.  ↳ Emma Vanity- Emma's massive ego is only complemented by Rita's sensationalist attitude. The two feed into each other. Keeping the compliments flowing like firewhiskey all while knowing that at any moment each one could turn on the other.
