✧ — Revati amplifies the theme of “the Guide”, as it is a very rich and spiritual Nakshatra. — Mercury is the prince or princess in the hierarchy of the planets. Revati Sun indicates one’s identity is attached to this title, metaphorically or literally. ✧ MOON — Our unconscious psyche, and therefore our primitive inner drives (such as sexual impulses). The unconscious is still partly unknown, but what we do know is that it speaks the language of symbols within the mind. These symbols are responses to our sensory perception of the world, which becomes encoded as images, feelings and other symbolic analogs. It is an important planet for understanding their sexual nature and physical aesthetic (colors, patterns, style). It can, to a certain extent, indicate what and who they sexually desire. For men, it represents the woman they desire; her personality, appearance and sexuality. It can also give information regarding their own sexual/romantic habits in society. This planet is all about others: socially engaging and focusing on them. It indicates sexual or sensual skill.

✧ MARS — This is the hunt taking place. Our inner drives in action, the actualization of our desires cementing passion in its path through the active pursuit of seeking and conquering consummation. Mars leaves marks of pain or pleasure. When a person is the focus of your Mars, the motivation is doing things with them with the goal of clouding the senses and altering the state of mind, performing a set of actions to cause physiological changes in both others and oneself, sex being one of them. The goal can also simply be the action itself: a ritualistic working out of our free-will and power of choice through the energy of moving our limbs. Many cultures practice rituals of all kinds, it is something in our human nature that is wholly natural and necessary for expression and externalization.

There has been discussion in our time about the comparison or sameness of love and cannibalism. Through stereotypes we assume that Mars is aggressive and Venus is docile, when in actuality Venus often crosses boundaries whilst Mars respects them. Cannibalism is the crossed boundary between consummation and annihilation; the overly indulgent Venus doesn’t stop before it, getting the infamy of immorality. Mars is protective and defensive against annihilation itself, it knows to consume without killing. Through this protectiveness, the qualities of possessiveness and jealousy are acquired, leading to betrayal in some cases. Mars is only loyal to the person subjected to receive the aim of their passion, regardless of societal standards regarding faithful marriage or what is “proper”.

Benefics and Malefics don’t necessarily translate into good or bad in a person’s chart; Malefics train the muscles of morality by presenting limitations and restrictions, sometimes destroying what no longer serves. Benefics expand and grow without limitations, sometimes preserving what must be destroyed.
