“I’m not a very good dancer, I don’t really know how to.” He admitted with a light chuckle. Dancing was never a skillset he felt the need to acquire over the years. He had picked up a bit of ballroom dancing for events he needed to attend to, but even then, it wasn’t really something he used. Though, he was not denying her request, nor would he. He didn’t know how to dance, and would likely step on her feet. But for her, he was willing to give it a shot. “But if you’d like to, I suppose we can.” He shrugged his shoulders, but he’s grinning nonetheless. He holds his hands out to her. “Shall we?”

“Neither am I.” His tone his deadpan, as is his expression. He’s hardly the type of person to show much emotion or give away what he’s thinking when he speaks. That doesn’t change even around Riza. Roy Mustang keeps everyone at arm’s length, and to other people, it might seem like he does that with everyone, including Riza. However, the bond they share is just that. They don’t need a lot of words, they don’t need to be physical. He doesn’t voice his inner thoughts often, saying just the bare minimum in most cases. He holds his words for a moment. Wondering if he needs to say much else. Though, maybe sometimes he knows he probably should. Does this situation call for a bit more honesty than he usually puts out? Not entirely. However, he’ll voice his thoughts regardless. His gaze doesn’t leave hers, and his expression changes for only a brief moment. Softening, showing the briefest of vulnerability only for her. “The only person I truly trust, is you, Lieutenant.” Really, she’s the only person he trusts completely, entirely and wholeheartedly.

Living a poor life meant seeing parts of the world most people didn’t see. She was sure that Ellis didn’t see things the same way she did. Maybe that was what drew her to him. He was like a ray of sunshine in the clouds of darkness that was her life. Calloused fingers reach for him, giving them a squeeze in hers. “Hopefully it’s good.” She hopes it’s good. He didn’t always wake over a sudden movement or sound but didn’t sleep like a brick like he used to. “I didn’t think you’d come.” He mumbled as he wrapped an arm around her. It was late, and he knew she was busy with other things that which was why they couldn’t spend any time together earlier. He’d suggested they meet up later but wasn’t sure if she would have the energy to do so. He had fallen asleep while waiting up for her. But now she was here. So when he got back to find Ana already asleep, he wasn’t all that surprised. A small grin curled at his lips as he tucked himself beside her. He wrapped an arm around her and leaned into her. Not wanting to wake her. He pressed a light kiss to her forehead before finally laying down and falling asleep with ease with her at his side.
