Why do we need an April Fool’s Day when I’m a Fool Everyday

This is, without exaggeration, probably the best dating advice I have ever seen.

because i’m a huge tea nerd, i made a tea brewing master list. enjoy.
BLACK TEA [ more oxidized than other types, which is what makes black tea taste stronger ]
Temperature: Black teas won’t brew if the temperature is below 90°C (194°F). Black tea varieties brew best near the boiling point.
Brew time: 4 minutes. Leave the tea bag / leaves in longer for a stronger flavour.
GREEN TEA [ often dubbed the ‘healthiest tea’ when really there is no clinical evidence of health benefits (doesn’t mean there aren’t any) ]
Temperature: 80-85°C (176 to 185°F). The hotter the tea, the more bitter it will taste.
Brew time: can vary. Usually, 30 seconds - 3 minutes will do just fine, but you can brew longer for a stronger taste.
OOLONG TEA [ most similar to black tea; requires similar manual production and it comes from the same plant - camellia sinensis ]
Temperature: 82 to 96°C (185 to 205°F). if the water is too hot, you will scorch the tea leave, which can result in a bitter, unpleasant taste.
Brew time: 5-7 minutes. you can actually reuse the leaves without the flavour weakening too much (unlike other varieties, such as green tea)
YELLOW TEA [ the rarest variety due to complex manual production + low demand ]
Temperature: 75-80°C (167-176°F).
Brew time: 3-4 minutes. Leave a lid over the tea cup while brewing
WHITE TEA [ a delicate lad; white tea is not rolled or oxidized, which gives it a ‘lighter’ taste ]
Temperature: 82 to 96°C (185 to 205°F). Same as oolong !! if the water is too hot, you will scorch the tea leave, which can result in a bitter, unpleasant taste.
Brew time: 3-4 minutes. Like any other variety, you can brew as long as you want depending on personal taste.
HERBAL TEA [ often not considered a real tea because it doesn’t come from an actual ‘tea plant’ ]
Temperature: nice and hot. Brew at the boiling point for best results.
Brew time: about 6 minutes. But since there are so many varieties of herbal tea, it’s hard to give an exact time. Really, just brew to taste (but 6 minutes is a good minimum time for most varieties)
BREWING TIPS
The larger and more delicate the tea leaves are, the lower you want the temperature to be. This goes for all tea varieties (varie-teas, if you will)
Pour the water over the tea bag / leaves. Don’t dunk the tea bag (it actually can change the flavour - see the next bullet point)
Pouring height: the height you pour the water from can actually change the flavor (wild right) !! it aerates the tea and creates more oxidation. The higher the pour, the more aeration. Plus it’s more fun to pour from really high.
If you brew a pot full, it’s best to warm the pot before hand to prevent sudden cooling of the tea. If you’re just drinking one cup, this is probably unnecessary (but i mean, it’s your tea. do what you want).
Microwave your tea water. Who cares. It’s harder to gauge the temperature when you microwave it, but honestly, it’s fine.
as someone who makes an unnecessary amount of tea I absolutely love this
Manifestation tips
⚡️ If you want to manifest something quick don’t ask for something specific, ask for something general like “a great opportunity/experience” this way you don’t have to face limiting beliefs.
⚡️ Say “wouldn’t it be nice if…” when you are in a good/happy state of mind (and then move on with your day)
⚡️ Write your abundance log! It will make you feel better (and will help you with your vibrations/manifestation abilities)
⚡️ Be grateful for something!! (As many things as you can but one thing is completely fine)
⚡️ Are you running late? Stop for a sec, breathe in and say “I’ll be there in time”, keep doing whatever you need to do (it works for me every single time)
⚡️Do you feel lost? Ask for a sign! Don’t be afraid of saying “universe (god/spirits…) give me a VERY clear sign!” (Or ask yourself for the sign you want to see)
⚡️ Be careful of how you speak. Say “I don’t master my drawing skills yet” instead of “I can’t draw fml”
⚡️ Don’t bottle up your emotions. Are you angry/sad/whatever??? Accept it, experience it and go and do something you like. (If you deny emotions you’ll keep attracting situations where you’ll have to feel that emotion over and over again because you’ll be operating from that low vibration)
⚡️ Think about the time you manifested something and feel that excitement again!
⚡️ Ask how you can improve your relationship with yourself. Are you denying anything to yourself?? Do you really want to do something?? Act accordingly (if you feel good about yourself you won’t have thoughts like “ohh but I don’t deserve this!!”)
⚡️ Do/go through your manifestation board on Pinterest and keep pinning stuff (it has to feel fun and easy)
⚡️ Having trouble letting go? Try to physically do something else. If you’re expecting a phone call put your phone down and go out/read a book/do your laundry…
⚡️ Having more trouble letting go?? Repeat to yourself “I need to let go, I need to let go, I let go” and do a little shake with your body (I usually shake my shoulders, arms or hands depending on where I am)
Note: this is all from personal experience, doesn’t mean it’s the ultimate truth. Just some tricks that work for me and hope they can help you manifesting things in your life.
“I’m a baby witch! What do I start learning?”
Here’s a quick-and-dirty list of things that I think sets up a good foundation for someone moving forward with magic work and why. They’re also in order of what I think is best approached first. (For a time reference, I recommend the whole thing taking at LEAST a year, but individual steps and overall length will vary in each person.)
Learn basic magical theory. What is happening when you cast a spell? What is grounding? How do correspondences work? Why is X step or tool important? Learn about what it is you’re doing before diving into actual casting. Have a basic grip on how it works.
Some form of divination, even if it’s something as simple as a pendulum. Other people won’t always be there to help you answer questions, validate your interpretation of something, or offer direction. Having some form of divination under your belt helps you avoid dependency on other people. You can more easily answer your own questions, check your own intuition, and take matters into your own hands.
Protection and Cleansing. No matter what path you go down or what type of magic you end up doing, these are two things that every magic worker needs to know how to do, and know how to do it well. They also tend to be fairly straightforward to learn. Cleanse your space, cleanse yourself, cleanse that object, cleanse your grandma. Then protect them. Learn how to set up wards and shields, which brings us to….
Basic energy work. You’ve probably already run into it a lot by this point and it’s fine if you’ve already picked up some things. But now is the time to really focus on it and get comfortable with it. Learn how to confidently sense what’s around you and interact with it, fix gaps in your wards and shields, project your intent into things, you get the idea. Energy work will always be there in a pinch and requires no materials besides your body, and is extremely versatile. Plus, most paths really require at least a base-level understanding of it these days. Can’t hurt.
Start honing your specific path. Here’s where the cookbooks, the old graveyards, the skulls on the shelf, the fairy figurines start really coming into play. If you have an idea of what sort of path you’d like to follow, start really getting into the meat of it! What does it look like? What are the first steps to that type of magic? If for now you’re still eclectic or aren’t sure, then just read what interests you or try more advanced general spells than you have so far.
Go back and do it all again. That’s right. You can also put time into your path or your regular research, but go back and pick up those old books from step one. Read the old articles. Return to the basics and see how your views have become more nuanced, or how you disagree. What details flew over your head the first time? Can you pick up a new form of divination or try something new with your main form? Could those wards and shields be stronger? You get the idea. Once you’ve revisited it, you should have a really solid foundation that will help you no matter what direction you take next!
Other stuff to study on the side: Local folklore, mythology, and types of spirits. You may not want to work with spirits, but sometimes spirits want to work with you! So it’s good to have an idea of what to do if they pop up. What plants grow in your area? What‘s edible? What is used in healing? What plants are NOT edible in your area? What’s poisonous?
If you think there’s another important step that you recommend that I didn’t include, feel free to add it! :)
Father in law: You should put your loose tooth under your pillow for the tooth fairy.
6yo kid: My mommy said we don't summon entities we're unfamiliar with.
