FIRST MEETING PROMPTS || accepting.

“I did not know sorceresses could bleed.” The smirk is apparent on her face, though the blame should not be put on Eivor entirely. After all, had they not drink all the barrels Tekla had brought right after the assault, and her brain is all forms of muddled.

Not muddled enough to dab medicine into the small cut on the woman’s bare shoulder, completely aware that she is crossing a boundary perhaps, but not finding the wit to care. It is almost unbearably hot by the hearth as well, but the blonde cannot remember to take her coat off. There are more important matters to tend to.

“It is the only way in which I can thank you for helping us tonight.” She can think of… other ways, especially in her drunken state, but thinks it would be humiliating to receive a slap in front of many others gathered in the longhouse.

“Hmph, if only,” she replies hunched over her cup. But the wound won’t scar and it will heal even faster. It is all the least of her worries. She’s found herself with a ... somewhat unique bunch. Not from Skellige, but they have a lot in common from what she has observed and not being terrible company is apart of that.

Yennefer flinches her shoulder inwards at the sudden touch against the opened flesh. Her body relaxes. Her lips turn up in a half smile. “The ale is payment enough.” It was all a coincidence of timing. She had come here searching for something. The vikings just showed up, hunting for their own treasure.

She looks over her shoulder at the blonde still clad in furs and armor despite the warm hearth that eases even the mage’s muscles. “Yennefer of Vengerberg,” she introduces.

It might actually be a curse to have magically enhanced sense of smell she thinks. The sound of his horse combined with the smell it only takes her a second to realize who is nearby. Why the fuck is he here?

Yennefer groans in her bed. She tugs the silk sheets over her head. It is not as though she needs to see anyway. Her eyesight has been struggling to heal and her chaos levels much too low to make an attempt to repair it herself. The nurses at Melitele told her that it will heal just that it will take time.

The sorceress took to a small residence near the grounds for her to heal in and still be tended to - just with less scolding for her language choices than she had received initially in the medical bed.

The squeak of the door echoes in her ears. “Why are you here, Geralt,” she groans. She tugs on the sheets, holding them fisted up against her chest. Her thoughts are torn as to what to feel about his unexpected and invasive presence as well as if she needs to yell at one of the nurses with loose lips and connections. So much for nuns...

being  a  witcher  was  doing  exactly  that,  cirilla  was  more  than  aware  of  all  the  dangers  that  could  come  with  it  ––  geralt  nor  anyone  else  had  treated  her  any  lesser  in  her  training,  only  pushed  her  harder  for  the  things  that  made  her  different  from  the  others  who  had  gone  to  the  wolf  school.   “i’m  trying.”   she  bit  into  her  lower  lip,  exhaling  through  her  nose.   she  knew  that  yennefer  only  wanted  the  best  for  her,  but  often,  she  feared  nothing  that  she  did  would  be  good  enough  for  her.   “should  i  go  ask  geralt  to  finish  stitching  me  up?”   she  questioned,  her  lips  pursed  together,  head  hanging  slightly.

It might be hard to believe that Yennefer wants to spend the time stitching Ciri up. It’s just as much a reminder to herself. She could have enchanted a needle and let magic do it all. “I understand that. I see that but outside of these walls, no one does.” That is why she took Ciri to Melitele, to Aretuza to train where it was safe to away from the Wolves of Kaer Mohren. She places her hand to Ciri’s cheek, “I don’t want to see your life cut short if it can be prevented.

This is all Yennefer knows. The harshness of the lessons of survival. Tissaia taught her well. The desire of wanting someone to live being one of the greatest of affection.
