With school finally almost ending and applying for post-graduation jobs / getting ready to move I haven’t had as much time for anime as I used to. However, the sole show I’ve been able to watch (slowly but surely) this season is A Place Further Than the Universe. It’s got that very lighthearted atmosphere that always makes you feel wonderful at the end of each episode. It doesn’t take itself any more seriously than necessary, and Madhouse has done such an awesome job on its animation (first time I’ve seen a SoL from Madhouse, more please).
There are several segments from several episodes that I’d love to post, but I’m just going to leave with this one from Episode 7 (the latest one I finished). Every single time this insert song comes on it’s like the show knows you’re going to start welling up, but then the direction it takes thereafter is its way of saying everything’s going to be alright. Because shows like this are so lighthearted, the slightest inconvenience to the characters can make the show’s world seem so irrationally fragile. So when something happens that conflicts with or would otherwise jeopardize that fragility, it immediately takes steps toward a silver lining. Then you’re left thinking of how silly it was to get so worked up over something so ostensible, even in the context of this fictitious world. But you can’t help but be happy that it still managed to solicit a positive, lingering emotion. https://youtu.be/s9dVqrRo3VA

Morgana: There're three ways to do things: the right way, the wrong way, and the Phantom Thieve way.
Goro: Isn't that the wrong way?
Morgana: Yeah, but it's faster.

Futaba: I paid for my rolos.
Futaba: I'm getting my rolos.
