"I learned a lot from making this" is artist talk for "making this sucked ass and I'm not entirely happy with the result."

returning to my horse girl roots since we’re nearing the year of the horse (my lunar zodiac sign!)

drew some miscellaneous guys that i've improvised on my tomodachi island in between the mix bag of tv & videogame characters. figured they could become fleshed out into their own characters since they've developed quite the personalities in game.

This took so long to draw. It was my first time experimenting with halftones (CMYK) as well as my first time drawing Leland. He’s so stupid and stinky.
I was also experimenting with a different art style. I wanted a more old comic book type of feel. I feel like the old comic book style fits Outlast trials so much.
PLEASEEE lmk if you like this art style. I’m not sure if people might prefer my old art style vs this one.
I recorded and edited some of my coloring process while drawing this :p
While I understand the desire to make Big Art entirely and viscerally I think it's worth considering that small art often leaves an outsized impact on its audience. Short stories, teensy indie games, short films, sketches on scrap paper, carved or sculpted figures that would fit in the palm of your hand, etc. etc. are all things that, when they hit your psyche at just the right angle, can stay lodged in there forever specifically because they are small. It is not necessary for a thing to be sprawling for it to have impact.
had a lovely time stewarding in the creature kitchen! adored this game and didn't want it to end!! 😭
