Darling, take off the mask.
"I LOVE that game!" (watched a letsplay and commentary about it)
People who believe that teens should have access to all kinds of fiction and information, people who believe that teens are smart enough to make their own decisions about what they are and aren’t uncomfortable with, people who will happily smuggle sex ed books to kids with parents who believe that you shouldn’t know what those parts are for until you turn 18…will always oppose adding content warnings to YA books.
Because look, adding a content warning to something is to a censor just like waving a red flag in front of a bull. It’s a great big sign that says “censor me first!!” Easily accessible content warnings mean it’s harder for closeted teens with homophobic parents to read books with queer content. Easily accessible content warnings means it’s harder for librarians to smuggle sex ed books to kids who only get abstinence-only education. Easily accessible content warnings means it’s easier for organizations who want to present themselves as “family-friendly” to exclude whole categories of information from their collections, the way Wal-Mart doesn’t sell music with “Explicit” labels (even though some of the albums they now won’t carry I bought from Wal-Mart before there were labels on albums).
In 1999, Congress tried to make it mandatory for schools and libraries to use Internet filters to protect the children from seeing porn on the internet, and we were able to fight it because the filters were terrible; if everything was appropriately labeled with content warning, that argument wouldn’t work any more, and they could mandate content filters, but I don’t believe for a second that those filters would be any better about not labeling queer content as inherently more adult than heterosexual content or deciding that information about birth control is inherently sexual in nature.
I don’t know how to solve this problem. I don’t know how you balance the rights of people not to be blindsided by something traumatic or even just something they’re not prepared to handle with humanity’s ceaseless desire to control other people. But I know that with the culture we have right now, widespread content warnings on YA fiction specifically are going to cause more harm than they prevent and it’s a very dangerous policy to promote.
Oh my god, leave him alone, u sadist fucks at capcom 😭😭😭
Yo, did anyone else ugly cry at the ending of resident evil village???
Dragon Age Games - Ranked
1. Origins - easiest controls, no companion that I disliked, I have a soft spot for wardens, Marabi, kinda looks like shit
2. Inquisition - beautiful, most touching moments, sick dragon fights, story had several slow moments, overwhelming amount of content
3. 2 - VARRIC! UI not adapted enough for console play, everyone is bi BUT the worst romance system, missed the character creator, badass bosses
I call BS on it taking Louise 8 days to figure out a logic toy. Girl is master manipulator and one near maiming from being an evil genius.
I do genuinely like Demi Lovato and I’ll never rag on something that helps people understand addiction and how hard it can be for people ..... but every time I see an add for her new YouTube documentary I can’t help but think how it’s only possible bc she’s famous, bc she can afford rehab. She’s pretty and talented so people want to listen to her.
Idk I just would feel better about the whole thing if I knew that the proceeds were going to charities who help with addiction and rehab or if the advertising were even kind enough to throw in the number to a help line.

My problem with the new Charlie’s Angels reboot wasn’t the casting or the predictable plot ..... it’s the shitty characters. They put so much effort into trying to make them seem relatable and relevant that they movie lost the glamour of the original(s).
I’ve played maybe three hours of Animal Crossing in my life from the few times I played my cousin’s Game Cube but I have been hyped since they announced New Horizons in 2018. Unfortunately, my mental health this semester hasn’t been great and it’s my last so I need to focus on graduating. I’ve made the horrible, gut wrenching, soul crushing, mind numbing decision to NOT buy AC until after I graduate in May. This will be a very trying month and half so I please ask you to pray to the Nintendo gods for my well being. Thanks.

A picture of me ranting about having to wait for season two to my friends who don’t watch anime
SPRING IS COMING
Shoutout to Ludwig Göransson for making the most interesting compositions in a television series I’ve ever heard.
The Mandolorian would be a whole different show without it. He has done such a good job of mixing classic Star Wars with more modern sound design.
so glad I waited until the series ended to watch the Mandolorian. I’m only two eps in but damn I’m hooked.
why hasn’t any of these streaming services put in a way to sort through your watch list??? Like I know I saved some d-list horror movie two months ago but I’m not gonna go scrolling through dozens of nonstalgia saves and half finished series to find it.
why is Disney listing shit they don’t get the streaming rights to until 2021 ???? (or most commonly November 2020 which might as well be 2021)
i think my sudden interest in horror movies comes from a need for something other than my impending disappointing future to haunt my nightmares
