"Right then. Who is going to give me hugs first?"
âMe!â Victoria is the first to reach her father and nearly jumps up to hug him.
Will and Nigel come racing into the room where Helen and George are. Their faces light up and they go to tacklehug Helen and their brother.
Helen and George both let out happy giggles at the attention from the boys. âHello there,â Helen exclaims, a wide smile on her face. âAnd how are you today?â
They are both busy hugging George when Helen speaks to them. They both turn to smile at her and for a moment it is a little eerie how similar the three look. âWe are good, thank you for asking Auntie Helen.â They say in unison. âCan we play with George?â Nigel asks, giving her his best smile.
Will and Nigel are going to happily cuddle into their grandmother. They seem to be very happy to be spending the whole weekend with her and away from home.
And Debraâs happily cuddling them back. She presses a kiss to each of their foreheads and smiles happily. âAnd how are my wonderful boys today?â
âOkay,â says Nigel as Will pipes up, âReally really happy to see you grandma.â They donât seem to want to let go of her any time soon. âFeels better here,â Nigel said quietly before Will shot him a look and they both went quiet.
Victoria, cross-legged on the floor of the office, isn't even going to look up from her files spread in front of her, "can you sit down? You're making me nervous."
âI am nervous,â Helen confesses softly, âvery nervous, in fact.â
watsoncarterchildren:
âYou may as well tell me, youâve already said it.â
âNo, itâsâŠnot something I should say to you of all people.â
âIâm not them.â

âDo you want to talk about it?â
âNo, itâs alright.â

The twins are carrying baby Jimmy as they cuddle up to Sam on the couch. With one twin on either side of her, Jimmy ends up in her lap and is gurgling up at her. All three of them are going to snuggle into their mother.
Sam canât help but be shocked by her kids before her heart melts. Lifting Jimmy up to lay on her shoulder, she canât quite wrap an arm around each boy, but she can press kisses to their hair and whisper her thank yous as she tugs a blanket off the couch and around all of them. âI love you all so much.â
Snuggling into their mother, the twins waited for her to settle herself and both smiled at the blanket. Nigel reached over to stroke Jimmyâs head while Will leaned up to kiss Samâs cheek. Grinning over at his twin they both looked up at their mother and said in unison, âwe love you to, mummy.â Theyâre both planning on staying as close to Sam as possible for as long as possible.
"What happened to Mum?" Helen crossed her arms and nearly glared at her namesake. "I know you know and I'm not leaving until I get a straight answer."
âWe had an argument, Helen. Is that a straight enough answer for you?â
âWe fought about your brother.â
âWell, feel free to reel in that dissertation. Not like it was extremely difficult figuring that much out, the babies did it quick enough.â
"What happened to Mum?" Helen crossed her arms and nearly glared at her namesake. "I know you know and I'm not leaving until I get a straight answer."
âWe had an argument, Helen. Is that a straight enough answer for you?â
âNo, thatâs a cop out because youâre always arguing. What was it about? And donât say nothing, Mum wouldnât be this upset over nothing.â
âUh, yeah. Why donât they talk about you?â
âBecause I made a mistake, one I can never be forgiven for. IâŠwell I suppose I just wanted to meet you before your parents decide Iâm too dangerous.â
âWhat could youâve done? You look pretty harmless.â
âNo. ItâsâŠcomplicated, but itâs very nice to meet you.â
âUh, yeah. Why donât they talk about you?â
âWellâŠconsidering what you just told me, I suppose that would make me your grandmother.â
âNot to be rude, but... Didnât you die?â
The toddler doesn't particularly care her aunty is doing a thing with other people, she's just going to climb onto her lap and curl against her. She lets out little sniffles now and again, but otherwise she's completely quiet.
Helen instantly holds the little girl closer to her. Though sheâs still participating in the conversation with her fellow Heads of House, sheâs giving most of her attention to her niece. âHello there my love. Is something the matter?â
She doesnât say anything, just fists her tiny hands in Helenâs shirt and shakes her head. Her eyes are still just a little too shiny and the sniffles havenât gone away.
Debbie is just sitting in the hall, tossing a ball against the wall she's facing, obviously deep in thought. She's decided she's done spying on people, finding out what someone actually thinks about you hurts.
Ashley smiles sadly when she sees the girl. âHey kiddo. Howâre you?â
âDo you like me?â

âIâŠyouâŠIâm sorry, but is James Watson your father?â
âYeah, whoâre you?â
James is just going to stand close by and watch over his girls in case they need him. Whatever it is that they need - he will be there for.
They havenât moved in a while, staring ahead facing each other, expressions souring with each passing minute. They havenât done this since they were children, not to mention the last time they werenât upset at the whole of humanity.
A short shake of the head is all that heâll get out of either of them, their expressions getting darker at the interruption.
James is a little lost as to what to do. Getting up, he decides to kneel in front of Helen. His hands run up and down her arms as he looks into her eyes.
âPlease, let me in. You donât have to hide what youâre feeling with me. Neither of you have to. You can let go. It will be alright. I promise.â
Helenâs eyes shift up to her fatherâs when he breaks her line of sight, full of anger.Â
âSheâs hurting Mum. Sheâs always hurting Mum. Itâs not fair.â Her voice grows steadily thicker until sheâs forcing out the words. Behind James, Toria is also wiping tears away, crawling forward to hug her twin tightly as she murmurs, âMummy would never do that to us.â

Going over and sitting next to them, James looked from one to the other and pushed his own pain down to focus on them. Holding out his hands, he reached out for a hand from each of them. âIs there anything I can do?â
A short shake of the head is all that heâll get out of either of them, their expressions getting darker at the interruption.
