I took a long trip down to a pit I felt was safe
It was a pit of no return yet I felt comfortable jumping in.
I jumped but realized it was still too soon to make that jump
I grabbed hold the ledge and pulled myself back up
My friend called out, “Hey what are you doing?”
“Sorry I thought I was ready to go”
“Let me get you some help”
I went to a village, to speak to the chief healer.
Told him my story and he listened intently
He said, “You have an issue of the heart and you still do not believe in yourself”
How right he was, I lost all cause to longer stay above ground for I wanted to venture to the world beneath.
He said, “There is so much more to life if you were willing to venture forth and try”
“It won’t be perfect the first time, but that is why life is an art.”
“It only can only be created to be perfect”
My eyes were opening and my heart was listening. Words he spoke so true.
I left that village with knowledge in my back pocket to see what this world has to offer. I allowed myself to change and to be transformed into the happiness I saw.
My mind was trapped in a box I only knew, but I jumped out of that box to see what is outside.
So far I have had an adventure of a lifetime realizing that such is the rest of the world fleeting. In the moments we see, so small are the moments that make us so real.
