The darkness overtakes me.
It holds me like a swaddled baby.
I'm wrapped in a blanket
Wanting to cry,
But nothing can come out.
The only time I feel
When the dark blanket is on me,
Is when I'm sleeping.
In a way,
I feel comforted by the blanket.
It holds me
Because nobody else will.
It allows me to rest when I'm sick,
And not just a cold.
I'm sick in the head,
And that's a hard thing to fix.
I'm scared of the dark,
But have to find comfort
In the blanket of darkness.
