Something I never liked about fandoms is how they like to baby characters who have anxiety or aren't good socially around people.
People often love to say that Serizawa doesn't know how to control his abilities, can't hurt others, isn't strong enough and isn't competent to be around people as he's "too introverted/anxious".

When it comes to his abilities, Serizawa before joining claw, he couldn't control his outbursts with them but as he develops more as a character we can see he can actually control them. And then later on (In the Reigen manga) he's practically an expert in using his psychic abilities as we see him do many things with it all at once. So saying he can't control them is wrong as he already learned because people can change for the better.
Many things people forget about serizawa is the fact this guy was a bodyguard for many years. When it came to hurting anyone who dared to mess with the boss, he hit them or even killed them. Now, does he want to hurt other people? No, obviously not. He holds back before he strikes, but he can hurt people who mess with him or his friends.
This one ticks me off, considering Serizawa is extremely strong. I would say he's under Shigeo and Toichirou but still.
As a person who suffers with major anxiety and self confidence issues, I relate to Serizawa A LOT. And often people treat characters like Serizawa as babies and only think of them as their partner's partner. People who unironically refer to Serizawa as "Reigen's boyfriend" are seriously annoying. It's like you're saying that he can't function without his hubby wubby. May I remind you that he actually managed to fix himself up on his OWN. It was only Reigen that offered him a job, nothing else. It's honestly impressive how much Serizawa has done to improve himself and to me that's genuinely inspiring so I absolutely adore him.
