So if anyone's been wondering where I've been, I took a good long needed break from Hoyo games. It's been nice and I'm learning to pace myself better, but now I've been dragged back into Star Rail and I have a new son.
Blog is still mostly under construction but he's there for anyone that has HSR muses.
@mmriesoftvat asked:
The bookstore in Sumeru doesn't have it, and Kaminari doesn't dare go to Inazuma to search that cursed Yae Publishing House, so his only other option is to go to Liyue. Which is where he is now, poking at the covers of books and reading the titles. With more and more irritability on his face, he finds himself turning to the person nearest to him.
"I'm looking for all volumes of Legend of Sword. I heard it's well written, and I need it as soon as possible. Can you help me find it?"
It's been awhile since the Book house had received any new shipments, but that didn't stop Xingqiu from browsing the various novels daily. Standing to the side with a book in hand, he skimmed the first few pages to see if the story caught his interest. Only looking up when he heard a voice addressing him.
At the mention of the title, Xingqiu found himself inhaling a little too quickly, following his response with a small coughing fit.
"M- my apologies. Legend of Sword was the title you're looking for? Uh, I have seen the first volume among the shelves for quite some time, but it's rare to find the whole collection here. A shame, really."
Wrenn didn't expect Cyno to return after he left, especially not with a towel and much softer words than the snark he had previously given him before. Hesitantly, Wrenn took the towel into his hands and started rubbing his hair, averting his eyes away from Cyno.
"... Don't worry about it," he muttered, words muffled by the towel as he wiped his face. "You didn't say anything bad."
How was he supposed to explain that the very idea of being jealous frightened him? Jealousy was a normal human emotion that everyone felt once in a while. He hadn't even been ignorant to the feeling, finding jealousy creeping in elsewhere in his life--but now... something about it was different, and he wasn't sure what.
Well, maybe he knew, but he didn't want to admit it.
"Let's just pretend tonight didn't happen. How about that?"
Crossing his arms over his chest, Cyno watched Wrenn with a slight tilt of his head. "If that is what you want. I'm more than happy to drop your comments regarding me and Tighnari, but considering whatever is bothering you, it seems to still run rather deep."
Releasing a sigh through his nose, Cyno's hand rested on top of Wrenn's head, ruffling his still damp hair.
"Allow yourself to gather your thoughts. You know where to find me or Tighnari if you ever wish to speak your mind."
Cyno startled him when he spoke, only just coming off the high of a spiral. Wrenn sharply turned towards him, blinking wildly, hair and clothes dripping wet from the cold water that shocked him out of his panic attack.
And all he could do was scoff in response.
"Just... shut up. You here to rub it in or something?" he snapped. "I'm not in the mood, thanks."
Wrenn's response might not have been much of a surprise, but Cyno was more focused on getting any familiar response considering how the other has been acting. Despite upsetting them, Wrenn seemed quick to up his guard once more.
There was silence as Cyno stood there before turning around, looking as if he was simply going to walk away without another word.
He returned a moment later. A large cloth in hand before laying it over Wrenn's head so they could dry off.
"Don't misunderstand my words. I'm not looking to open more wounds. I never intended to open one in the first place."
"I--No! No I do not!"
Definitely not with Cyno, of all people!
In fact, now that he's noticed his own wheezing... he's going to find the nearest bucket, fill it with ice cold water, and dump it on his head.
That should... help calm him down.
Cyno is just going to watch from a distance for now, studying Wrenn's behavior from afar. Once he's felt the other has pulled some of their thoughts together, he takes a step closer.
"It's a rare sight to see you riled up in such a way. Have my words really dug so deep?"
@starlitwishes
Wrenn can't even look at Cyno right now. He's been thoroughly bamboozled. The concept of Jealousy and Love are Forbidden fruits and you made him take a bite!!!
"Do you.... wish to talk about it?"
He... he just wanted Wrenn to stop teasing his relationship. What did he say???
Send my muse a question and they will answer with blatant lies!
"hm, I seem to have misplaced my cards. Now this won't do..."
"Care to see a magic trick?"
Me: You know, I've been feeling burnt out from Genshin. Both the game and rping aren't doing it for me lately.
Lyney: Hi.
Me: ....Shit.
"Am I not allowed to call you if I want to see you?" Tighnari hummed, staring at him for a moment, "So you're saying I have to call you with an intended purpose.. I wasn't aware you were so disinterested in my company."
He was teasing mostly, watching Cyno's face for his reaction.
"That wasn't the point I was trying to make and I believe you are aware of that. My point being you wouldn't call on me at all if you didn't enjoy my company. In fact, I think you secretly enjoy my jokes."
Despite his straight face, Cyno was willing to tease right back. His arms crossing over his chest.
"Don't make me regret calling you in here already," he sighed, propping his chin against his palm, "Why even make jokes around me anyway? There's no mood to lighten, and you don't intimidate me. You don't have to try so hard.."
"Perhaps I just enjoy sharing my sense of humor with one of the few people I feel most relaxed with." Cyno shrugs, stepping further into the tent until he's by Tighnari's side.
"And if you truly disliked my jokes so much, I don't believe you would be calling for me only just to see me."
"You weren't that close, you were standing outside my tent. Don't tell me you were standing there contemplating on one of your terrible jokes again."
"My jokes are not tearable. In fact, if you tried, they would be quite hard to rip apart."
waywardwishes
"... Yes?"
"Nothing.. I just wanted to see if you would somehow knew if I called your name."
"... Was that truly a topic worth studying? I wasn't far to begin with. Well within earshot." He doesn't seem to get it.
"With my luck, that'd be the least of my worries.." Bennett groaned, laying on his back as he was instructed, allowing the adrenaline of his fight to slowly fizzle out, leaving him feeling immediately exhausted.
"I'll be alright, this sort of thing happens all the-- huh? Wait a sec.." Green eyes blinked rapidly, looking up at the familiar face of who was looming above him, "You're.. Mika, from the nights of Favonius, aren't you? Wow, guess my lucks really taken a sudden turn after all."
Digging through his bag, Mika tried not to fumble his supplies as he quickly brought out everything he thought he would need. "Oh, uh... I also have some water and field rations. You should eat something to bring up your energy."
The mention of his name quickly pulled Mika's attention away from his bag, looking back at the adventurer. "Me? Oh, n- no. I- mean, yes, I am, b-ut there's nothing special about me."
