A large part of Angelia felt incredibly guilty for the way she couldn't sit back and be the supportive girlfriend of a rockstar that traveled the globe and offered his music to millions. Out of everyone in the world, aside from perhaps his mother, she was his biggest supporter when it came to his talent and his dreams.
The man beside her had it in spades. In just about every way, from the moment they met at that coffee shop so many years ago, she believed in him and every dream he wanted to chase.
Only, Angelia had her own dreams and wants, and they didn't exactly match his. When it came down to it and the world (especially his record label) demanded he go on tour, she couldn't be that person holding him back. Yet, when Lochlan had left, the pain in the wake of his departure had been something she'd been unable to fathom.
It was one of the worst things she'd experienced.
He left. Again and again.
For years and years Angelia held out hope that she would be good enough. That she would be enough. That he would choose to stay because that was where he wanted to be.
It had taken so long though that she couldn't necessarily wait anymore. There weren't lovers or anyone she was able to maintain anything with because her heart had always belonged to Lochlan and always would. She bought herself a house. She built a life and career.
She settled that the person she loved would never be a constant in her life.
"Really?" The question came out in a near gasp. Not only was she in some shock there was astonishment in her tone. Angelia had stopped believing a day like this would come. "You're staying? This is your house and you're staying? Like for good? Or is this a place to just hang your head between trips?" The questions poured out quick and fired off in rapid succession, her head nodded the entire time as though she was encouraging him to say yes and confirm what was making her tremble.
Adrenaline surged through her. This was wild. Her heart pounded against the walls of her chest and she pulled Lochlan close, then kissed him.
"You can still have someone do all your paperwork for you," she pointed out. "Not me, but someone..." The home buying process wasn't the funnest when it came to the contract, Angelia remembered that much.
As he moved her deeper into the house her earthy gaze moved about the space and she was taking it all in too fast, some part of her feeling overwhelmed and that it was difficult to accept something she hadn't expected to ever be a reality. "Maybe I'm just fussy but I've never really thrifted for furniture. I can't get past how dirty it might be and what it might have been through," she chuckled, a little nervously as her hand splayed over her neck.
Soon her eyes moved to the empty living room and traveled freely about the open space, focusing on the blank walls as she listened to Lochlan. "Of course I remember your mom's place. How could I ever forget?" It was one of her sweetest memories. Going back to see his hometown the first time and meet his mother and see where he grew up had been incredibly special. "I'd be happy to help you make these walls our own," she smiled over at him, tears in her eyes. / @super-bl00m
