You don't care about mental health if you don't care about the mental health of women of colour. You don't care about mental health if you don't care about the mental health of people working under a mentally ill person in a position of power. You don't care about mental health if your version of caring is blindly enabling emotionally and verbally abusive behaviour. You care about the white man, partially because he's the main character of this show and the writing allows you to immerse yourself narcissistically in only his point of view but also, based on the way some of you are interacting with woc in this fandom, probably because you have blind spots and don't want to feel uncomfortable for long enough to acknowledge them.

Yes, this is a fictional show but the discourse you're having is with real people and the viewpoints you're consolidating carry into real life, be more fucking careful.

i truly have so little desire to even watch the finale of season two. noah wyle and the writers room full of men can go to hell and i hate them for sacrificing the screen time of every single woman on this show in favor of robby having the same fucking freak out multiple times every episode. it’s tired, it’s boring, and i’m sick of it. supriya ganesh deserves better.

hey so I actually think it might be a conflict of interest to let Noah Wyle write an episode of the Pitt. Like it may be done, but the premise of the show is a team of healthcare workers in a Pittsburgh hospital, dealing with the stressors of working in the ER, not Noah Wyle writing 40 minutes of screen time for Noah Wyle in which he gives himself a big hero speech and turns a moment of valid commentary on how American healthcare treats marginalized people into a dark joke about his own character’s suicidal ideation. like it hasn’t been beaten into us for 13 fucking episodes (this season) that Robby is suicidal

Writing out Samira just as people started being more conscious and pointing out Robby’s racist and misogynist treatment of her. Not to mention Supriya subtly speaking out in interviews. Yeah this was definitely targeted with a very personal motivation. Someone needs to shit that old man.

and no white male characters are being tortured to further a women's emotional or narrative arc. it's always the other way around and it’s becoming obvious. al hashimi and samira are there to highlight robby. samira's problems with her mom and looking for a job is just so it's even more visible how badly robby is doing when he yells at her or tells her she doesn't belong. al hashimi is there to show the viewer how different her and robby are and is being used as a punching bag by him. santos is there to highlight langdon's return and getting just a very slight storyline about how she's upset, and just gets used to further the robby/al hashimi beef. she's upset and worried for whitaker, but that just gets used so that robby can offer whitaker his house. joy didn't have anything going on except wanting to go into pathology while highlighting ogilvie's innapropriate behavior. mckay similarly highlights langdon's addiction, robby's suicidality, and ogilvie's bias. oh and she wants to get laid. dana is one of the only ones who has a bit of stuff on her own going on that doesn't have shit to do with robby. and still, she constantly cares for him and coddles him until she can't take it anymore. the only one that is kind of having her own arc is victoria. these women have interesting stories, of course they do. and they need to get explored! but they aren't really unless it has anything to do with how robby or another man is feeling on the show. it can never just ... exist.

oh my god. it's all sliding into place.

edit* i'm aware robby is the center of the story, but i do feel like his story is going at the cost of having woc have their own story and experiences and arcs.

can you imagine how much better of a story it would be if samira left the pitt directly as a result of robbys harassment, starting a ripple effect among the staff culminating in massive distrust and a lack of camaraderie with robby, finally subjecting him to how he's made women of color feel (isolated, uncared for, scrutinized) throughout both seasons? but no we're gonna find out via dennis that she went off to jersey and made up with her mom and got a hot boyfriend who gave her a baby before her precious eggs could die because thats all women are good for :) this show is about robbyyyyyy robby cant suffer consequences or be disliked by anyone its robbyyyyy come onnnn guyss :)

i cannot get over how angry robby made me this episode. he has continuously diminished mohan and made her feel like a bad doctor and has the audacity to yell at her for having a (completely justifiable) reaction to a massive panic attack at work when he was the same fucking guy who had a full blown breakdown during a MCI and cannot control his own emotions to save his goddamn life
