Song of Achilles au
The parallels between Patroclus and Adam and Achilles and Michael really just make me feel things
Michael the perfect warrior, Achilles the best warrior of his generation
Patroclus who was the best of the myrmidons but not thought as such until his death, Adam who is also seen as second rate due to his status as half-brother but in the end saw more than Sam and Dean ‘Since when do we get what we deserve?’ (like if Sam and Dean realised that we wouldn’t have half the problems we did cmon now) and also ending up being a perfect vessel for Michael
Michael appreciating Adam for this in the same way Achilles appreciated Patroclus
Adam going into pre-med, Patroclus being a healer
Adam and Patroclus trying to convince Michael and Achilles to fight respectively
Achilles and Michael only fighting after Patroclus/Adam is dead and being so reckless about it that they both get themselves killed.
Like would a Song of Achilles au break my heart? yes, do I also want it? yes.
(Also the parallels between Dean and Deidamia and Thetis is God just trying to keep his dumb son on the correct story path but both Achilles and Michael are doing goo goo eyes at Adam/Patroclus instead)
(Also Patroclus and Adam being shit at fighting--Adam literally only just learnt to fire a gun but their himbos love them.)
(Also ignoring Michael’s betrayal of the Winchesters but also kind of not bc Achilles doesn’t just defend the camp like Patroclus wanted him to, he kills hector, following his ‘destiny’. But tbh the writing of that episode was questionable. Like I get Michael had a big daddy complex but does he really just lose all braincells without Adam.)
