I hated that I couldn't stop thinking about him. He was the most vile person I had ever met. He had hurt so many people. I didn't quite believe in evil, but he might have been it.

But he also had the gentlest touch, and a kind smile. If I could find a way to help him heal from whatever made him so destructive, he might do something good.
