actually pretty bleak that the charlie brown Christmas special is all about how commercialism destroys the holidays and our relationships and makes us casually cruel and shortsighted because consumerist obsession places all our hopes and excitement into material goods and shiny prizes. and now snoopy is so heavily commodified he's just like mickey mouse 2. he's just a gucci bag for quirked up internet users. a five below keychain used to signal that you are nonthreatening and cozycore. they're printing his face on potato chip bags this winter. what have you done to him. where's the shame. did charlie brown's plight mean nothing to you
sure listening to a whole album all at once is cool, but have you ever heard one song by a band while you were watching a tv show at age 13 and then heard another of their songs on the radio the summer you were turning 14 and the heard a few more as you got more into music in high school, and then all of a sudden you're 18 and just found two more bangers from the same album?? the gift that keeps on giving. the songs are meant to find you at different points of your life.
pushing back against oldest child stereotypes by making unwise choices and not being dependable
it actually is insane to me that it's a cultural norm for men to suck ass at getting their wives/gfs gifts. especially when they whine about how they have no idea what women like.
man, you're not getting a gift for Female Domestic Partner. you're getting a gift for Natalie, a person whom you have been married to for 7 years, whom has lived in the same home with you for a decade, whom speaks to you every day about her thoughts and interests, whom you presumably love, and whom you can directly or indirectly ask what she wants. it's not that you don't know what half the human population wants, that's irrelevant. you don't know what Natalie wants and that is inexcusable.
how your 20s feel when you dont know what ur doing
laptop at 22%. the social network score song 'in motion' on repeat. essay getting written in a somewhat incoherent way. you know the vibes.
this damn song is gonna single-handedly make me not fail all my finals. shout out 'in motion'. shout out reznor and ross. sorry the academy didn't nominate the challengers score (they're insane).
basically 1 year later, passed all my finals, still irresponsible as fuck though because the laptop is at 35% and I have 4 hours to write a 2000 word paper worth 1/3 of my grade and a 500 word response paper for another class. plus finals the next two weeks. ironically the song I listened to the most studying for finals last time was actually 'everyday is exactly the same' by nin. reznor and ross save me again.
waking up during winter feels like this everyday
I love love love things like when everyone just calls that one person by their first and last name or when everyone calls someone like lisa p or maia j or whatever because you know at some point there was a lisa r or a maia w. like little intricacies of language in socialization. you guys know what I mean
Saw some cool urban repair on Dearborn the other day when I went out for a walk; I kinda love this trend of filling in cracks and holes with little works of art.
hey, I was just at "things got better" island and everyone there is talking about how excited they are to meet you
I will fix cinema:
Every actor is dirtier and sweatier
Barely any cgi
Everybody is ugly
There is a single light source, maybe 2, per scene. It is also colorful.
Every production needs a storyboard artist, who storyboards the film after the script is done and before they start filming
There is a lot of silence, pauses,
everybody is ugly
the holy cinematography grail is star trek the original series
in transit (1), oil on canvas, 11"x14"
tshirt concept
when that guy ian said "always gonna be money, always gonna hoes, always gonna be something" I really felt that. there really is always something
can't wait for the day my letterboxd is totally empty. like I'll have watched 3 movies in one month. that's how I'll know I've really been living my life and not watching other peoples. or having a super insanely awful time. either way
there’s just always something fucking happening
