🐦Birds in Winter🐦All cold-climate birds pack on body weight in the late summer and fall in anticipation of the long, cold winter, but feathers also play an important role. All birds stay warm by trapping pockets of air around their bodies. The secret to maintaining these layers of air lies in having clean, dry and flexible feathers. (This mourning dove is being kept warm in 7° weather by squatting down in a puffed up manner.)

Birds will also roost in thick cover, tree cavities or manmade nesting or roosting cavities to ward off cold. Chipping sparrows, northern cardinals, blue jays and mourning doves, for example, will roost in dense conifers and other thick cover on frigid nights.

💟Home is Where the Heart is...💟💚💜💛💙

The proverb 'home is where the heart is' means that, wherever you are and whoever you are with, your home and family provide the greatest emotional bond.

I have a photo series of homes/houses etc.: 1. An interesting snow covered home that hopefully keeps you safe and warm, 2. A old haunted looking shelter that may or may not provide some protection if you do not have a home, 3. An enclosure certainly built for an adventurous temperary home, and 4. A structure of houses with a marvelous and historical view.

An inspiration of what a home should be...

The sun at home warms better than the sun elsewhere. A house is made of walls and beams; a home is built with love and dreams. There's nothing half so pleasant as coming home again. Home is where love resides, memories are created, friends and family belong, and laughter never ends.

An Unusual Ancient Temple: "Ta Prohm" (ancestor Brahma founded in 1186 AD) is located in Angkor Siem Reap Province, Cambodia.

In order for this Temple not to be completely integrated with the jungle, certain new structures have been built around its foundation and also to protect it from a large tourist inflow every year.

I have always been interested in ancient historical ruins and this is only one of such locations. The giant tree's immersion into Temple Ta Prohm is certainly a unique wonder at this time and place. The encroachment of Cambodia's jungle is a central concern for its destruction as the giant roots continue to grow larger and more consuming every year.

A Bluebird is usually perceived as a symbol of joy and happiness that are expecting you in the future. If this bird has appeared in your life, it will remind you of all the beauty of the nature around you.🍀

Bluebirds are also considered as symbols of prosperity and progress. They are considered a sign of good luck as well. ... When the bluebird appears in your life, it often announces changes for the better in your financial situation and overall progress in your life. Bluebirds symbolize fertility as well.🍀

Words from my book, A Child of Pain: My Secret Garden (an excerpt from Chapter 5)..."In my special secret garden, contained deep within, is a tiny wish. Such a simple request, that if I could have replanted my childhood, nurturing it with miraculously fertilizing foods (containing magic ingredients that would have made offshoots of a severely damaged parent plant into stems of healthy, strong blooming flowers) then my inner essence would now consist only of special qualities that were beneficial and pleasant and my life would surely have a more productive purpose; a more positive outcome." I was sitting in the sands on a beach, Emerald Isle off the North Carolina coast and was kind of in a trance as I was looking out at the ocean.  I suddenly noticed a kind of grassy patch with stones all around it.  It had no beauty of any value so my imagination went to work and this is what I painted.

Perceptions: Each of us have a very different view of what others actually think or like...look at this abstract painting and verbalize what you see in it; ie, like leaves, shells, swirls, etc. Believe me, we will not have the same perception. Our minds take in an influx of information minute by minute so what we hear, see or think cannot be processed immediately...so a version of your perceptions may not be viable at the time of the process.
