Great addition to this post thank you @beesmygod
infants lack something known as object permanence. what this means is that they do not have the ability to understand that something still exists when it is out of their line of vision. this is why they like peek-a-boo, because to them you really do disappear when you cover your face with your hands. now, individuals with borderline personality disorder experience emotional impermanence, which follows the same basic idea that if someone is not actively at that moment validating you and paying attention to you, then they donât care about you.
in the same way that when an infant cries when it drops its security blanket, assuming it has disappeared forever, people with bpd feel panicked when they cannot feel or have tangible proof that a person still cares. they may assume that because you arenât paying attention to them or saying you love them in that moment, the reassuring things youâve said and feelings youâve displayed previously have disappeared permanently.
this stems from our fear of abandonment. every move made is analyzed, our brain constantly asking âis this a sign that theyâre going to leave? they havenât answered in three minutes, are they never going to answer again? is there someone better? do they hate me?â and the progression of thoughts spirals downward rapidly. our brains are something like a paranoid sherlock holmes. everything is a clue leading to abandonment.
this makes it EXTREMELY difficult for people with bpd to maintain relationships. no matter what lengths you go to reassure us, thereâs almost always a small part that the minute itâs over feels like it didnât happen, or it wasnât genuine. itâs not to say that your efforts arenât appreciated!! of course they are. but itâs hard for us to cling to them as reminders after the fact.
and reassurance can be a double edged sword. thereâs comfort in being reminded, but then we may also fear that we manipulated you into reassuring us, or that you didnât mean it and only said it because you knew we wanted to hear it, or you felt you had to.
emotional impermanence is a longtime struggle, and as real as it feels to us, we often do understand that our fears are irrational. our emotional impermanence and insecurity generally have an internal loci of focus. that is to say, itâs based on ourselves and our cognitions, not you or your actions. and with saying that itâs internally based, not externally, it can be difficult to understand how we can already have forgotten you love us, or already believe your feelings toward us have radically shifted in the 5 minutes since you expressed appreciation.
as difficult as it may be to understand though, and as irrational as it may be, these feelings are very very real to us. work with us, listen to us, reassure us when youâre able to. for most people, emotional permanence, to at least some degree, is a given. to us, it can feel like a myth.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) confronted a CEO Thursday for pricing a drug designed to reduce the risk of HIV transmission at $8 in Australia but over $1,500 in the U.S.
âYouâre the CEO of Gilead. Is it true that Gilead made $3 billion in profits from Truvada in 2018?â Ocasio-Cortez asked Gilead CEO Daniel O'Day.
â$3 billion in revenue,â he clarified.
The current list price is $2,000 a month in the United States, correct?â she asked, referring to Truvada.
âItâs $1,780 in the United States,â O'Day responded.
âWhy is it $8 in Australia?â Ocasio-Cortez countered.
âTruvada still has patent protection in the United States and in the rest of the world it is generic,â O'Day explained, adding, âIt will be generically available in the United States as of September 2020.â
âI think itâs important here that we notice that we the public, we the people, developed this drug. We paid for this drug, we lead and developed all the patents to create Prep and then that patent has been privatized despite the fact that the patent is owned by the public, who refused to enforce it,â Ocasio-Cortez said.
âThereâs no reason this should be $2,000 a month. People are dying because of it and thereâs no enforceable reason for it.â

Update: we donât have much time left
Please reblog to spread the word.
Time is passing by so fast⊠They have to have received the money by May 21, but itâs a weekend and a holiday, we really should send it off by May 17 at the latestâŠ
Thatâs next Friday. Thatâs 10 days.
My grandma tried again to get us a loan. The first time, they denied her but told her to come back on another day and try again. She did come back, she even had a friend with her to sign a⊠warranty? Waiver? (I donât know the word in English shdjdjdj-) thing for her, which would mean that if my grandma couldnât pay off the loan, such as by passing away, then the friend would do it. This should have made it more likely for the bank to give her the loan, but they still refused to give absolutely anything.
Now we could be just a bit short and are truly running out of ideas for how we can do this. But we Have to do this. We will never truly get back on our feet if we lose this house.
I wish we had someone else we could borrow from, but we donât. I have no idea what to do.
We might be short by about $4,000 Canadian. Iâd really hate to have been able to collect a majority of the money and then fail anyway. Perhaps a miracle can happen in these next 10 days.
Please donate if you can. My family needs all the help we can get.
Go to paypal.me/alexg05 and type in the amount. Since itâs PayPal, it's easy and secure. Donât have a PayPal account? No worries.
Please please help my family!! We are being taken advantage of by our mortgage loan provider. I am certain that what they are doing cannot
Friendly reminder that if PH buys Tumblr, they do NOT own your content, and the people saying so are fear-mongering idiots (or misinformed).
Itâs 4:20AM. Iâve just scrolled by the fifth post claiming PHâs ToS lets them own your content in as many minutes, screaming that we need to run for the hills if PH puts forward the cash needed to keep Tumblr from (worst case scenario) shutting down.
Iâve debunked it before and Iâll do it as many times as it takes: The part of the ToS people are talking about/scared of is one that almost every website in the world that allows user-submitted content has to include for legal protection. Otherwise, someone could sue them for:
Making different sized versions of the original content, for example to use as thumbnails or to fit the width of the website format (such as Tumblrâs dashboard)
Featuring the content anywhere on the site (also the dashboard, otherwise your posts would only ever be on your actual blog pages)
Allowing people to reblog (or similar sharing systems) the content
Taking pictures of their own website in which the content may be visible
Hosting the content (data) on their server at all
The wording varies from website to website, but they all have some version. In laymanâs terms, itâs a clause that translates to: âBy uploading, you allow us to use your content in ways that our website needs or may need to function as intended.â
And now, back to your regularly scheduled scrolling.

This is worse. Looking at these you can tell they have no significant monetary value. They were confiscated as a fear tactic. Nothing more.
This picture breaks my heart everytime it appears in my dash. Itâs a fear tactic, alright butâ
The first one in the left corner: Itâs a first communion rosary, and itâs not cheap.
The black one in the first line: Thatâs a widow rosary and itâs old.
The white one in the second line: is a commemoration rosary. It has a miniature picture in the round part. I havenât seen that since the 70âČs.
In the third line, multicolor one: Itâs an Anima mundi, I have only seen those in the hands of Rosary ministeryâs old ladies. The oldest ones are from the 80âČs after Juan Pablo II came to Mexico for the first time. Itâs one of the old ones, I know because the crucifixes are different. The third one on the fourth line: Red and gold. The style is old, the metal is dark, thatâs a 50âČs rosary, probably a quinceañera one (or itâs maybe older, from the 40âČs when the brides carried red roses with their offerings).
The fifth one on the fourth line: Itâs a quinceañera rosary with Ignatiusâs tear. The style is old and in my part of Mexico is orphan girls who used it. At least it was when I was young. The third one of the fifth line: the blue one with the anchor. That one I have only seen in Veracruz and it doesnât look new. The fifth one on the fifth line: Thatâs a 90âČs wedding rosary. Black and white patterns were popular on that date. The fourth one on the last line: Thatâs a first communion rosary from the 30âČs. Itâs delicate and most probably silver. The rest wrench my heart too, the humble everyday rosaries with wooden beads and knots. Those are cheap and bear the wear and tear of their user handling. But those I described are much more.
Those are motherâs rosaries.
Those are not just rosaries. Those are mementos, thatâs the proof of their families stories. They are taking from them the only portable things they can carry to feel the connection to their families. Itâs not a fear tactic. Call it like by its name. Itâs dehumanization.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONATE IF YOU CAN, AND PLEASE REBLOG TO SPREAD THE WORD.
I hardly even have the energy to write this but here we goâ I will restate some things again now that I have more information, and Iâll try to explain this as calmly as I can rather than how I did the very first time I found out this was happening.
THEY GAVE US LESS THAN A MONTH TO PAY $20,000.
We missed our mortgage payment in February. The mortgage is $3,200 each month, because they gave it to us for an insanely high rate. Weâve been able to keep up with it up until now but suddenly thereâs been much less work and so we missed the February one.
This is the letter telling us to pay for February, plus $2,600 in âlegal feesâ that they added, totaling $6,000.Â
The payments are meant to be automatic. In March, when we did have the money, they did not take it even though they were supposed to. My dad had even messaged them telling them to take it and they would not. They did this purposefully so that they could now have âtwoâ months of âmissedâ payments over us. They need three months in order to be able to evict us.
Thereâs $6,400 in mortgage alone, not including the February âlegal feesâ or any that they probably also added for March. Originally, they had first demanded that we pay these overdue payments.
THEN, they decided to add April into it. Mortgage x 3 = $9,600. Within a span of few days, they keep changing their own story. They just keep adding to it!!! You can see that the very first letter was received on April 4. The most recent letter that I will show in a moment, is from April 18. In just these few days, they added so many more payments into it??? And now, since they keep changing their story, they have these three months on us!!!
Thanks to loans from friends, kind donations, and work of course, we were able to collect $6,000 and quickly rushed to the bank to create a bank draft (a very official cheque) for $6,000 and we quickly mailed it off to them. We wanted to pay them the $6,000 we had ASAP so that we could have paid something and they couldnât evict us, right?
We fell into a short moment of calm where we thought we were safe from being evicted now. We paid $6,000 and they couldnât evict us and weâd pay the rest as soon as we had it. Of course you know this didnât last. THEY MAILED THE CHEQUE BACK. SAYING THAT THEY WOULDNâT ACCEPT IT UNLESS IT CONTAINED THE FEBRUARY, MARCH, AND APRIL PAYMENTS. If they want the money so badly shouldnât they just accept the $6,000 and take the rest later? No, because then they KNOW they canât evict us, and thatâs EXACTLY what they are trying to do. THEY WANT THIS TO BE AS IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO PAY AS POSSIBLE. They could have taken the $6,000 but then they are unable to evict us, and they want to evict us.
THEN, THEY ADD MAY.
Our mortgage payments are âofficiallyâ meant to be paid on the 2nd of each month, but my dad had agreed with them to pay on the 25th of each month. That is how it has been the entire time we have lived here and they know this. But suddenly, they decided that we need to pay for May as well, because if we were to pay on May 25th, that falls after their May 20th deadline. So they suddenly said the 2nd again because thatâs how it is in the papers, even though they have agreed previously that the 25th was okay, and BAM THERE IS A 4TH MONTH ON US??? They are literally looking for every way they can to fuck us over.
This is the most recent letter, telling us to pay $20,000!!!!! How could they just go and suddenly change it to THIS??? Mortgage x 4 is $12,800, the rest is literally âLEGAL FEESâ AND INTEREST THAT THEY KEEP STACKING ON US OUT OF NOWHERE. $5,400 is just for their lawyer who only sent us one letter and then proceeded to ignore and avoid us when we wanted to question him further!!
It is literally fucking evil how they are trying their hardest to make this unpayable for us. I donât even think itâs about getting this money, or else they would have taken the $6,000 when we sent it to them. It is about making this unpayable for any person, so that they can take the whole house from us. They could have easily taken this $6,000 from us and taken the rest later, but they wouldnât even accept it until it was the full $20,000 that they suddenly decided that they want. So many of that are just fees that they made up!!!!
This isnât even counting other bills that we have to pay such as electricity and food.
It is so. Fucking. Wrong.
And my family is SO TERRIFIED.
Worst case scenario ? We will get evicted. We will be HOMELESS. IF, we have any money, we might be able to rent an apartment. Apartments are expensive and require 2 monthâs rent upfront. We wouldnât have enough bedrooms for all our family members. We wouldnât have enough space to take most of our belongings. We wouldnât be able to take ANY of our animals (2 dogs and 6 rescue cats) as no apartments near us allow animals (we checked) and even the shelters in the area are utterly horrible and careless (in addition to charging you per animal..) Most of our animals are unadoptable as well. And this is all IF we can even afford an apartment, IF we are left truly homeless, weâd still lose everything, on top of having nowhere to go to and social services possibly even taking my 10 and 6 year old siblings away.
THE ONLY REALISTIC OPTION FOR US is somehow paying this off, because we need to stay here long enough to sell this house. My house has been on the market for 3 weeks now and only one person has come to even view it so far, and wasnât interested in buying it. If we can sell this house, which we definitely should be able toâŠwith a little more time⊠Then we can pay off the full mortgage and move elsewhere, where we wonât have this problem again.
No, sueing is not a realistic option. How can we go against this entire corporation and their lawyers? Our own lawyers would cost thousands that we donât have, court would take ages, and they would still evict us in the meantime. They know this. They know we are powerless against them.
My dad is working as hard as he can but his job is being very slow at the moment. He installs floors and normally at this time of year, he should be buried in work but for some reason he isnât getting any. On top of that, his boss from the main store he works at hates him and purposefully does not give him work. The other 3 stores he is hired at simply are not giving him much to do.
I am applying to all the jobs I can but none are contacting me back. I am so frustrated. One job in particular nearby my house would have been the most perfect option for me and they hired someone else instead. I am still trying to search for a job but we also live in a kind of middle of nowhere area and I have limited transportation. I am trying my absolute best. Iâm also doing art commissions - PLEASE consider getting one if you can!!!
My mom doesnât speak a word of English, cooks and cleans constantly, and takes care of my young siblings every day, and yet is still searching for a job for herself⊠I have no idea how she will get one without being able to speak English or having any experience.
My parents donât really have any friends/family in Canada. I have a very small family and they are all in Poland and very poor. Weâre usually the ones sending them money every month. Weâre even considering asking my grandma in Poland to take out a loan from the bank for us, but my mom is so embarrassed to ask her for fear of terrifying her too much (she hasnât told her any of this so as to not stress her outâŠ) and they are unlikely to even give my grandma a loan since she is poor and very old. We canât really ask her for much help but we might just have to. Even if she is able to get a loan for us, we will still be far from our goal⊠But my mom thinks thereâs no way the bank will give my grandma a loan.
We are literally doing everything we can and they are just trying their hardest to take this house from us⊠Itâs sick. Itâs horrifying. I never knew that people could be this completely evil. To think that within a span of just a few days they would change their own story like 3 times just to make this harder and harder for usâŠ
PLEASE help us if you can!!! If each follower could donate even a dollar, that would help immensely. Please reblog to spread the word too! Please look at my commissionsâŠ! This looks like a very hopeless situation but hope is really all I can have anymore. All I can do is hope for a miracle.. Iâm trying my best to apply for more jobs and hopefully get hired somewhere. My dad should have some work for the next week. Maybe we can do thisâ we have to do this⊠The outcome if we canât is more horrible than I can even imagineâŠ
Please donate if you can, I greatly appreciate all the help we can get.
Iâm so sorry for being annoying posting this⊠I know itâs not nice to see this post but this is my biggest outlet to hopefully get a bit of help.
I will keep you updated as I learn more and thank you so much to anyone who may be able to help or who has helped so far.

The Full Potential Challenge
Ever wonder what your life would be like if you lived up to your full potential? Would your body be healthier? Your skin clearer? Bank account bigger? I think about these things all the time, and, judging my a previous post, you guys do to. Below is a chart designed to help all of us live up to our full potential. Iâve broken it down into time frames to help keep you from getting overwhelmed. Write the chart down and hang it someplace where you can see it all the time. I will be starting this challenge tomorrow, 9/8. Iâll check in with you guys every Sunday to track my progress. I have specific goals in mind for myself, and you guys should make some too! I really want to know how you guys are doing. Tag your progress posts with #sbfpc so I can track it and take a look. Letâs get to it!
EVERY MORNING
Stretch. First thing. Really give your body enough time to wake up. Touch your toes. Roll out your shoulders. Do not hit snooze!
Do your full skincare routine. I have mine detailed here, but do whatever works for you and your complexion. Be gentle and consistent.Â
Brush your teeth and floss. I used to be a big floss-skipper too, but youâd be amazed at how dig of a difference it makes. Rinse with a whitening mouthwash. I use one by Crest, and I notice a major difference in my teethâs overall whiteness in just a few days.
Give yourself enough time to get ready. Whether youâre a wash-and-go kind of girl, or someone who spends an hour doing a full contouring routine before class (and either one is fine!), make sure you arenât rushing. If you need to wake up a few minutes earlier than normal, so be it. Rushing sets an awful, stressed-out tone for the rest of the day. Allow yourself to be relaxed before taking on the day.
Eat something. Iâm not going to say eat a big breakfast, because some people (myself included) just canât eat in the morning. But you should eat, or at least bring a little something with you to work or school. If you canât eat a full breakfast, grab a fruit! You wonât be as hungry come lunch time, making you less likely to gorge yourself.
Shower. You can do this at night, in the morning, whatever. Again, this is something you should allow some time for. I donât wash my hair every day, but I do condition it every day (from the ears down). Scrub yourself with a delicious-smelling body wash. If you shave, make yourself as smooth as a dolphin, dude. If you donât, then donât and donât ever ever ever let anyone make you feel bad or weird about it. When you get out of the shower, wrap yourself in a fluffy towel and totally slather your sexy self with lotion. Top to bottom. Do it as soon as you can post-shower so it can really sink in.Â
Put leave-in condition throughout your damp hair and comb it through.
Put on an outfit that makes you feel good! So important!
Drink water. Drink water. Drink water. Drink water!!!!!
Take a look at your daily to-do list. Knock out the most pressing stuff first. Take pride when you cross things off your list.
Make your bed! Oh my god, make your bed. Do it. Do it. Do it.Â
EVERY AFTERNOONÂ
Follow the âtouch it onceâ approach. This is a truly life-changing thing. When a task is in front of you, no matter how big or small, just do it right then and there. How many times have you gotten a work email or homework assignment and thought, âEh, Iâll do it laterâ? And then later never comes? Once something pops up, do it once. Squash it and be done. Cross things off your list and feel like a badass.
Try to go for a walk at lunch. Even one little lap around the block or campus will reenergize you like nobodyâs business.Â
Drink water. Drink water. Drink water. Drink water!!!!!
Be present. This is so hard for me too, but you have to make a major effort to be present in whatever youâre doing. Be engaged and plugged-in and just exist in the moment. Give 100 percent.
Be friendly to friends and strangers. A smile goes a long way.
Eat something. Eat what you packed for lunch (see below) and take a break from working while you do it. You need âyou timeâ!
EVERY EVENING
Take your makeup off as soon as youâre in for the night. Wash your face with your full routine and let your skin have a break.Â
Workout. You can also do this in the morning. Whatever works for you. Make a great playlist and go hard af. Get your cardio in. Get your strength training in. Earn every freaking sweat bead forming on your forehead. Earn your shower!
Knock out your homework. Life is infinitely better you donât have anything hanging over your head. Half the time, the energy and emotion you spent dreading/putting off your work is ten times worse than the work itself.
Make a list of what needs to be done tomorrow. Itâll set you up for success the next day, and you wonât forget anything!
Drink water. Drink water. Drink water. Drink water!!!!!
Lay out your clothes for tomorrow. This will save you SO MUCH TIME in the morning omg I canât even tell you how important this is.
Eat something great. And once youâve decided to be done eating for the night, be done. Brush your teeth so you canât eat again.
After brushing, do a whitening treatment. Whether itâs classic baking soda, a Crest white strip, or a laser. Do something. And floss! Retainers in too, ladies 0:)
Relax! Take a few hours to do what YOU want to do. Scroll through Tumblr, binge on some Netflix, FaceTime gossip with your friends, anything. Do whatever makes you happiest.Â
Shut the electronics off an hour before you want to go to bed. Put your phone on sleep mode. If you stare at the screen, it will keep you awake and alert and you wonât be able to fall asleep. A good nightâs sleep is crucial for weightless and general happiness lol
Do a quick sweep of your room and see if thereâs anything you can put away real quick. A clean space is a happy space.
Crawl into your bed (arenât you happy you took the time to make it?!) and read a book by lamplight for a while. When you start to feel sleepy, go to sleep. Donât push it. You kicked ass today and you deserve rest.Â
EVERY WEEKEND
Do something with your friends. It just has to be one thing. Even if youâre just hanging out at the coffee shop, spending time with your squad will make you a better, happier person.
Drink water. Drink water. Drink water. Drink water!!!!!
Do something just for you. Set your laptop up in the bathroom and watch a Netflix marathon while you take a bubble bath. Buy an old school bottle of Mr. Bubbles ($3 at Target!) and really just soak. Relax. Light a candle.
Do something creative. You can read a book, write, blog, draw, code, anything. It just has to be something that speaks to your passion.
Track your progress. Just do this once a week so it doesnât become all-consuming. And remember that non-scale victories are just as important as shedding pounds.
Take the time to be grateful. Tell your friend how much you admire her taste in music. Mention to your mom how much you love her cooking and how happy you are that she takes care of you. Thank your teaching after an especially interesting lecture. When you do something awesome, take a moment to admire yourself. Be grateful for even the little things.
Anything I missed? Reblog + add yours! Donât forget to tag your progress!
starting this Monday!
Iâll just reblog and fav cause I need to read this in the morning!
