As a Californian, I was not a fan of Kamala Harris's presidential candidacy. I really feel like she did not align with me on some pretty fundamental issues and I wish the Democrats had had an actual primary in 2024 so that she could have been soundly trounced by better candidates like she was in 2020.
Kamala Harris was a candidate that I was *at best* lukewarm on.

If you dipshits run Gavin Newsom in 2028 or pull any stupid fucking tricks to give him a better position in the primary (like the stupid fucking trick you lucky assholes pulled by not putting support behind a democratic candidate for the recall as a safety measure), i am going to start committing thematic crimes and/or assembling a killdozer.
I was not particularly fond of Kamala Harris, but I fucking *loathe* Governor Gavin "Homeless Sweeps" Newsom. Kamala was not great, but she was also not "using the destruction/disruption of a homeless encampment with her own two hands as a photo op" bad. She was not "I wouldn't want my daughter playing college sports against a trans woman" bad. She was not "inviting Charlie Goddamned Kirk on the first episode of her new podcast to ask advice about running to get approval from fucking republicans" bad.
If, in three years, I have to listen to a bunch of democrats telling me that there's no better choice and I have to vote blue no matter who and the blue that they are handing me is *this motherfucking ghoul* I am going to end up in a federal prison so if you happen to be a democrat and you happen to be reading my blog I would really like it if your party could run better candidates than this piece of shit so if you hear people starting to mumble about how "Well maybe Gavin Newsom has some good policies, he's going to be better for LGBTQIA folks than Vance and he's got experience running a big state" please let them know what a tremendous piece of shit he is so I don't have to walk away from super tuesday and hear that this greasy fuck is the lesser of two evils.
You know how after the fires in January Trump said "we're going to release the water, that water from up North, it's going to come down through the state, we're going to bring it to the cities, instead of giving it to the fish - which are bad fish anyway, too small - that don't need our water, we're going to open the dams, we're going to fill the river" and everyone who knows anything about water infrastructure in california promptly went "what the fuck are you TALKING about are you INSANE that is an awful idea"? You know, that thing? That's what it feels like to see people discussing Gavin Newsom as a national candidate.
Here he is getting ready to throw away the place where somebody sleeps while running a state that has more than twice as many unhoused people as it has shelter beds. This CNN article about Newsom's order to dismantle homeless encampments ends with a quote about tents like the one the governor is throwing away here:
“Every time that you like regain a tent and maybe some blankets and a couple of outfits and just get enough stuff around you to start to really feel – I’m not going to say normal – like you have a safety zone, it’s gone,” he said. “Even though it’s a tent and a few things, as soon as you get to that point, in that moment, it’s wiped out again… Nobody’s asking the question. The voters, the people. Where are the people going? If they’re not in my neighborhood now, then whose neighborhood are they going to if you don’t have enough shelter beds in your city?”
I personally know people who died after Newsom ordered encampment sweeps. I fucking hate this guy.

So many people had bad shit to say about Biden and Harris, but trust me it can get so much worse in regards to Shitty Dems.
Like I am ride or die vote blue no matter who, but but Newsom is a guy that would make me rethink that. policy.
(Also its a flash in the pan compared to some other stuff, but Newsom also sabotaged the state of California's investigation into Activision Blizzards dirty dealings by firing a key lawyer leading the investigation, at the behest of his buddy, CEO of Activision Blizzard and BFF to Jeffrey Eptstein Bobby Kottick).
Like a lot of people like to talk about how the Democrats and GOP are exactly the same and I just roll my eyes at that sort of talk, but in this case no, no, Newsom would be as bad as a Republican president, maybe not Trump bad, but he would definitely be a bad time for pretty much everyone.

Leftists Before the Primary: Don't run shitty candidates, I would like to vote for a candidate who actually reflects my values rather than one who I have voted against in at least three elections because he has policy positions that I *DEEPLY DISAGREE WITH AND FIND MORALLY REPUGNANT.*
Democrats Before the Primary: Don't dismiss anyone! We've got to do better than Trump so we've got to be moderate to attract people from the center to vote for the democrats! Let's be a coalition for once instead of tearing each other apart like the left always does! Stop complaining and just support the democrats for once in your annoying leftist lives!
Leftists During the Primary: I am going to vote for the farthest left candidate possible and talk a lot about it and say that if this candidate doesn't win maybe I'll sit the election out because I support this candidate's policy positions and if they have a strong presence in the primaries other candidates will likely move toward their positions.
Democrats During the Primary: Don't you care about electability?!!?!?! You want to nominate a SOCIALIST for the presidency?!? That is RIDICULOUS you have to be strategic, you have to pick the candidate who is most likely to win in the general, so you have to pick the person who is most qualified and least offensive and has opinions on a muscular military strategy that are in line with Bush-era republicans, that's just the way it is, otherwise you're throwing away your vote. That's why we've got to use our coalition power to undermine the candidate with popular support - the voters aren't thinking strategically and are going to select an unelectable candidate.
Leftists After the Primary: You have nominated a shit candidate and I don't want to vote for them unless they have less shit policies. I will loudly discuss my intentions to stay home until we have a democrat candidate who isn't talking about how out of control the border is (because the border isn't out of control and we should be talking about amnesty not deportation). Candidate, if you want me to vote for you, you have to be less shitty.
Democrats After the Primary: Vote blue no matter who! Vote blue no matter who! If you don't vote for someone who has bloodthirsty defense attitudes similar to those you protested against in the 2000s and has personally worked at companies that built the surveillance state you're ceding the ground to fascism!
Leftists After the Election (Dems Win): Now that you have won, I am going to criticize your shit policies and protest your border crackdowns and and yell at you for not doing enough to protect workers or marginalized groups and for not rescheduling marijuana or making any attempt to pack the court.
Democrats After the Election (Dems Win): Let people enjoy their victory! We worked hard for this! Stop being so critical! They're doing the best they can but republicans in congress won't cooperate and the anti-choice, anti-labor, pro-lobby democrat congresspeople we ran in purple districts as a concession to 'moderates' have managed to foil our plans to make things better, so we just have to hold the line until the midterms!

Both parties suck, both parties are disliked, Republicans have gamed the system harder to make it easier for them to win. There are a shitload of voters up for grabs who feel like they've been left behind by everyone who could probably be swayed by policies like medicare for all or amnesty for immigrants or free college, but instead the dems spent the last election sucking Liz Cheney's asshole and talking about how we were going to have the strongest military in the world.
Shut the fuck up. Now is exactly the time for leftists to yell about this bullshit. Run better people in the primaries. We're telling you that Newsom is both a bad candidate (because he's a fucking conservative) and that he will lose to the republicans (because he's a smarmy little fuck from California with no spine).
Before Trump was attacking Los Angeles, Newsom was doing the same thing (by tearing down homeless encampments and arresting the people who were trying to protect the only place they had to sleep). Protesting Trump and protesting Newsom come with the same cops and the same teargas from where I'm standing, which is why I'm saying something about it NOW.
Don't run this asshole, and tell people who are talking about running him that he is incredibly unpopular in his own state and is INCREDIBLY conservative.
Things will keep getting worse as long as people continue to accept the "lesser evil" instead of demanding the greater good.
People are dreaming if they think a Californian *perceived as a democrat* could win the midwest even today. Like I have lived on both coasts and now live in the midwest and people will hear "californian" and go "hell no." And that's BEFORE any of the political issues or positions or photo ops or anything.
I see people trying to rally around Newsom as some kind of savior of the Democrats and ... absolutely not. No.
