There are four realms: celestial, mortal, mystic, and the Underrealm.

Dragons generally despise enchanted silver and freezing temperatures.

Except for those that are enchanted, magical creatures are immune to modern weapons.

It is possible for both magic creatures and stuffed animals to hybridize with other members of their kinds, stuffed animals age similarly to humans, and for magic creatures to change their appearance, but it takes time for them to regain their strength after being depleted of power.

The other parts of the world can't understand both species like some.

I am not including the television show; I am only referring to films in which those two are the main villains. I also have to give it to Red: he's cold, calculated, malicious, and manipulative. Because he's so good, I missed the hints that he was the main villain when I first saw the second movie. Furthermore, my headcanon is that the collars were Red's way of keeping an eye on Itchy, Carface, and, most importantly, Charlie.
