My Predator Ranking (based on my own lore) – Entry #8 The Fallen Apex
In my lore, the Giganotosaurus was created by InGen in 2013 as a potential new flagship attraction for the Jurassic World park. Intended to be unveiled shortly before the Indominus Rex, it was meant to represent raw prehistoric dominance. However, the events of 2015 prevented this from ever becoming reality.
Following the collapse of Jurassic World, the Giganotosaurus was acquired by Biosyn and relocated to the Biosyn Valley, where it was reintegrated into a controlled ecosystem. There, its true nature began to surface—not as a spectacle, but as a predator struggling to reclaim its former status.
During the Early Cretaceous, the Giganotosaurus was among the dominant apex predators of its era. In my lore, this dominance did not last indefinitely. With the emergence of the Tyrannosaurus in the Middle Cretaceous, a new apex lineage began to rise one that would eventually displace the Giganotosaurus from the top of the food chain. This evolutionary shift marked the end of its uncontested reign.
This loss defines the Giganotosaurus’ modern behavior. It does not hunt merely to survive, but to reassert dominance. Its actions are driven by instinct, rivalry, and an inherited memory of supremacy rather than necessity.
The Giganotosaurus is powerful, resilient, and relentless. It actively challenges other large predators and refuses to remain subordinate. However, its fixation on reclaiming supremacy makes it predictable at times, pushing it into confrontations that expose its limits rather than secure lasting control.
For these reasons, the Giganotosaurus ranks #8.
A former apex predator. Still immensely dangerous but fighting not only its environment, but the legacy of a throne it no longer holds.
Just want to spread awareness that pandas are no longer classified as endangered! While they’re still classed as vulnerable they are not nearly as close to extinction as they were before, the more people who do their best to save animals the more good news and progress we can share!!
