The difference in the relic interactions between Crystal Kingdom and Eleventh Hour should be studied.

Like what do you MEAN last arc the big problem was Magnus just really wanted to eat the super powered rock no matter what and it was largely just played for laughs.

Then the Eleventh Hour has the chalice running through the three guys’ pasts and greatest regrets namely, Merle being tricked into losing his arm, Taako being tricked into poisoning 40 people to death by someone he trusted and Magnus losing the love of his life at the hands of someone he overthrew in a rebellion. MY JAW WAS ON THE FLOORRR when it was revealed the chalice would not be another wisdom saving throw and instead its own episode to try and convince them to give up their timeline to pursue their own happiness.

Merle being happy to live with his own mistakes, Taako just being happy he was innocent all along ans Magnus saying he wouldn’t do it because its not what Julia would have wanted. 🥹 Magnus in general was just on FIRE this arc!! He was already developing so well in Crystal Kingdom then he was sooo good this arc.

Him being the one to break the silence the guys were in after the chalice tempted them and saying how he wouldn’t judge them if they wanted to take the offer despite knowing immediately he wasn’t taking it 😭😭. The fact he was the first one to have a rebuttal to the chalice trying to guilt trip them about Phandalin!! I was wondering what they were gonna resist that one and Magnus asking what happens to the Rockport Limited and Crystal Kingdom if they aren’t in the Bureau!! That hadn’t even crossed my mind when Phandalin was brought up and him having that answer ready was so cool!! "You're showing us one thing we CAN change and not the stuff that we DID change." 🤩 (The chalice showing them everyone in Phandalin dying out of spite was NOT cool. Rip Barry Bluejeans)

Taako may be my favorite of the 3 still but Magnus was threatening his position throughout that whole segment. THE CLIFFHANGER AT THE END WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE’S THE ONE IN THE RED ROBES 💔💔 MAGNUS WHATS GOING ONNNN. THAT BETTER JUST BE A WEIRD FASHION CHOICE

The other two boys were so good this arc too tho! I love Taako’s relationship with Ren and how he initially was just using her for diamonds but he would’ve actually given her that class if that loop stuck and then at the epilogue him giving her a diploma because he was watching her the whole time 🥹🥹. Merle’s discussion about faith and how he felt about it growing up really resonated with me even though I am not a practicing Catholic anymore. I loved all his interactions with Pan and Istus this arc and I love his backstory!!

Screaming this arc was so good!! I’m genuinely going insane from it. I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve ever watched this
