One equals one, five equals five, so obviously one does not and should not equal five because five is a higher number, right? So why can one person have more of a say than five people just because the one person has more power, that doesn't make much sense now, does it?
Why don't the five people have a bigger say than the one person? Is it because of their race, religion, gender, sexuality, the way they dress, the way they look, because they have a disability? But none of that should change someones opinion of a person, because the only thing that should change someones opinion of a person is how they act. So why would some people rather listen to a bad person just because the person is straight, cis, and white? That's not fair to the other people that wish to speak, they want to speak too. But they don't get to, some don't even have the oppurtunity to speak while others will get listened to just because they're not a woman, not a poc, not gay, not trans, don't believe in christianity, don't dress alternatively. That's not fair, that's not fair at all. Or some people will have a voice, will have opinions, would get listened to if they spoke, but they don't. Why don't they, maybe it's because they don't want to get arrested, or on trial, or to have a criminal record, or to get deported. But none of those things should happen just for speaking. Unless of course, the person speaking is a bad person. But what defines a bad person? Is a bad person someone who crossed an invisible line? Is a bad person someone who can't afford housing? Is a bad person someone who doesn't feel quite right in their own skin? Is a bad person someone who harms themselves? Is a bad person someone who isn't neurotypical? Is someone a bad person because of their race, gender, sexuality, looks, fashion style, religon, disability, mental health, or scars? No, a bad person is someone who thinks they're better than others and tries to take control, someone who bullies others, someone who raped someone, someone who killed someone, someone who commited serious crimes, someone who likes kids while being of the legal age, someone who spreads harmful opinions. But still, one person might speak for multiple people after discussing with the group, but one person should not say they are speaking for others while only speaking for themselves. Just because someone is different from you doesn't mean they're harmful. They could be the nicest person in the world and you wouldn't even know because you won't give them a chance. But still one does not equal five as five is a greater number. No one person should be considered greater than others unless the others are bad people. As said in animal farm by george orwell, "all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others" which i fear is true for humans, although it shouldn't be. Every human deserves human rights unless they are a horrible person.
