When I heard Paul sing, “No one is to blame,” I thought he was singing about the breakup, the 1970s, John’s passing. Then listening again to “(Just Like) Starting Over”, I heard John singing the same phrase, and I felt sure I was right.

And now I’m thinking about the juxtaposition between song titles: starting over versus leaving things behind. Looking forward versus looking back. @faultlessspills tell me if I’m wrong in sensing some queer temporality at play…
