[COME BACK YOU DWEEBS]
"Rule breaker?" Jardis asked, surprised by the title. "Oh, uh, yeah! Yeah, that was definitely my intention!" Of course, this was a lie, but she didn't want to jeopardize her newfound popularity amidst the other recruits. "So...uh...." Not knowing what to say, Jardis' voice quiets as Zofia approaches. She looks as if she is about to blurt out a greeting, before snapping her mouth closed and turning her attention back to her meal.
[like, y'all seem to have a thing going, so you can keep going without me introducing new shit, you know? converse among yourselves or whatever, and if you want to inspect an npc, just have your character walk over and plunk their shit next to them, alright?]
"No problem," Sandi laughs, accepting the napkin. "I knew she was going to go after someone before dinner was over. I wouldn't have guessed you for a rule breaker though." She nods, impressed, in Jardis' direction.
By this point, Zofia has made it through the line for food. She looks and finds and empty place to sit at the table with Andre, Jardis, and Sandi. She starts to head over and sits down opposite them.
Jardis takes the napkin without a word and cleans the soup from her ear, all the while keeping her eyes on her tray. However, the other girl's laughter catches her attention. "Um...I was just curious about it. That's all." Jardis turns to Sandi, only then remembering to be polite, and mumbles a quiet "Thank you" as she holds out the used napkin to return it. "Oh, wait. Here you go," she says, quickly swapping the used napkin for a fresh one. "Sorry about that."
The serving woman backs away, pointing two fingers at her own eyes and then at Jardis.
Oh, she saw you take the bread, girl.
Andre bursts into laughter, and across the table Jasna twists her hair and lets loose a few hysterical sounding giggles.
"Wh-what on earth would possess you to do that?" she gasps.
Sandi leans over and offers her napkin to Jardis. "You missed a little bit on your ear."
Jardis was unprepared to react, and as a result, she found herself with a face covered in soup. She sputtered a bit before licking the soup from her lips. “Y’know, I was a little hesitant about trying the soup, but it’s actually not that bad!" She giggled, then picked up the ladle and held it out in her palm. “Sorry madam, you seemed to have left your ladle on my tray. Here, please take it!" She mustered up an apologetic smile, then hurriedly rushed over to Sandi’s table.
She sat down with a huff and quickly shoved the extra loaf of bread into her mouth, hoping that the serving woman had been too preoccupied by her missing ladle to notice. She didn’t meet the eyes of Sandi or Andre as she cleaned the soup from her hair and face.
Andre is about to reply when the serving lady stomps over to their table, a thunderous look on her face. The members of the 104th grow quiet--they've seen this happen before.
She doesn't speak, just reaches out and pushes Jardis' face straight into her bowl of soup.
(you can roll and add agility to dodge, or roll and add strength to push her off, or something.)
Jardis stands nearby, listening intently to the conversation between Sandi and Andre. She makes no move to approach them, or anyone else for that matter, preferring instead to keep her eyes on the tray of food held delicately before her. Surprisingly, Jardis had managed to sneak an extra loaf of bread while the serving lady was distracted, and the pride resulting from her success is evident in her expression. In addition, a familiar wooden ladle rests on one side of the tray. She giggles quietly, then continues to listen as Sandi and Andre converse.
"My dad used to yell at me for hours when I would climb on top of the roof to see their drills," Sandi chuckles. "I used to think that it looked like they were dancing through the air, so graceful and sure of themselves. That's how I want to be: more comfortable in the air than on the ground."
"More than anything!" Andre exclaims. "When I was little I'd spy on the soldiers on the Wall," he says, chuckling, "Then hurt myself jumping off of things."
":Oh definitely, I just wish we actually got to use it, Standing around in our gear all day was just too frustrating," Sandi looks out a large window just behind the table holding the members of the 104th. "I want to get in the air," she rips up another biscuit and turns back towards Andre. "Don't you?"
Andre grins broadly, happy to have someone to talk to. "Yeah, but it was worth it, right?" He takes a huge bite of bread but keeps talking around it. "The chance to use the 3D maneuver gear...That's awesome, yeah?"
Sandi quickly makes her way to the buffet table and loads her plate up with as much food as the grouchy server will allow. She looks as if she is about to argue for more but thinks better of it and walks away.
The wooden chair scratches against the floor as she drops herself down at the table next to Andre. "That took forever. I'm fucking starving," she groans before shoving half a biscuit in her mouth.
