Lately my activity had been a little low. I'm hoping once I adjust to my new job and home I'll have more energy and muse to be more active.

“We have a little help. I got the alphabet translation. And previous owners left notes in the margins.” Rose slid a piece of notebook paper, on it was a key to decode the writing. “So the language in the book is like the fae equivalent to Old English. The version I know works a little more like Middle English. It's not a perfect comparison.

Her finger traced over the strange markings that were letters used in the book, then her finger moved to the translated version of the letter. “We will need to go from the dead language to the modern tongue, then I can translate it to English. Things are bound to get lost in translation, but it is the best plan I have.”

Rose got settled next to him with the book in her lap. The optimist in her hoped this translation process would be simple and a breeze. With a small wave of her hand, a spiral notebook appeared along with a pencil.

Still buzzing with excitement, she flipped to the first page and began the process. As she filled the pages, she ripped them from her notebook and held them out to him.

“It is some kind of spell book. All I know is there are instructions to creating a portal. One that goes to the Vale.” She practically skipped as she approached him.

“It’s in an old fae language from the Vale. Fortunately, my parents taught me some of the language. Unfortunately, it’s a bit more advanced than my knowledge of it. I think we can figure it out though.” She sat cross legged next to him and carefully cracked open the old book so they could both see what the pages revealed as she flipped through the tome.

It took a little longer for her to force her way into building, but she managed to sneak in and close the door. Myra knew she didn't have long to sit around here. The vampires she'd been hunting had surprised her, and the fight had not been going in her favor. Her muscles complained as she sank to the floor.

After studying her surroundings in the dark, she guessed this must be some kind of museum. The possibility of this places having an alarm made staying her all the more risky. If cops saw her now, it would raise a lot of questions. Bruises were already blooming over her left eye, throat, and everywhere one of the bloodsuckers landed a blow. Two ribs were broken. Being hit by a car paled in comparison. She'd been in hit enough times to be mildly embarrassed. As she slowed her breathing and heart, Myra studied the room further.

Her eyes beamed with excitement as she showed him the cover. The title was faded and written in a language used in the vale. It looked almost comically large as she held it. “Do you want to go on an adventure?”

She was typing away on her laptop, the chatter of the humans in the cafe around her. Sometimes the conversations she overheard were distracting, but being working alone at home made her feel lonely and restless. The story she was reading and editing kept making her smile or stifle a laugh due to the strange interpretation of what humans consider supernatural or mythology.

Her hand reached for her coffee while her fingers on the track pad scrolled the page down. The mug clattered against the table when her hand knocked into it. The coffee immediately pooled and spread on the table. She jumped up and snatched her laptop from the surface and groaned at the lukewarm coffee making the bottom slick. She muttered an unsavory word in her people's language.

When she'd shot up from her chair to save her computer, she'd also knocked into a stranger, causing their drink to spill as well. "I'm so so sorry. Are you okay?"

I liiiiiive. Been gone for quite a while. Life got incredibly difficult. It still is, but I need to get back in touch with my hobbies. Get some enrichment in my environment and all that lol.

Still around and wanting to get back into writing. I think it is coming along slowly. I wrote a poem recently. Hopefully I can get back soon and plot with people!

The pain didn't completely disappear, but there was a small sense of relief once he got her shirt off. "Thanks. Yes, distraction it is." Rose was grateful he offered options; ideas were hard to come by in this state.

"Sure, yeah. Um...something from the top shelf over there," the fae said, gesturing to the large bookshelf packed with DVD, tapes, books, and the like. "Do you mind sticking around? I have snacks and some basic art supplies." Rose rarely used them—her talent stayed in the realm of music and dance, not drawing or painting.

"I really hope this ends quickly. Who knew getting wings isn't fabulous and actually—fuck—hurts?” Rose said, weak smile on her face. The movie and his company helped comfort her some. Nix's presence provided a sense of calm, and it was helpful not having to move around too much when she needed something. The pain mostly came in waves. Occasionally, a wave would be particularly horrible.

"I know you're not really into movies, but have you seen this one?'' She asked, midway into the film. Her knuckles were white as she clenched a throw pillow during a flare up of cutting pain between her shoulder bones.
