Millie (they/them) is one half of Em & M, the first same-gender ice dance team to officially compete in Europe. They came 3rd at Finnish National Qualifier just days before phan real announcement!

This is truly a historical moment and was even reported in The Guardian.

"For the first time in the history of official figure skating competitions at a qualifying tournament in Finland, a same-sex pair appeared – Emma Aalto and Millie Colling. They appeared during the regular program, presenting their ice dance routine on the ice.

Finland became one of the countries where federations lifted the ban on participation of same-sex pairs, and a similar decision was also supported by the Canadian Figure Skating Federation. This loosening of the rules opened the possibility for Aalto and Colling to compete together at the official level."

Phannies are really out there being a crucial part of gay history!

Crawling out of my hole to remind people that with this current update to Firefox (version 144) they've gone and dumped in their lot with a buncha lil AI tools, namely Perplexity as a new search engine.

So if the sound of that leaves your mouth tasting of tar, here's what you want to do:

In the url bar, type in about:config

It'll give you a big scary warning page that you might poke holes in your browser. Good. You want to do that. Click continue.

One by one, you're going to need to put each of these into the search bar in the page, not up top:

browser.ml.enable browser.ml.chat.enabled extensions.ml.enabled browser.ml.linkPreview.enabled browser.tabs.groups.smart.enabled browser.tabs.groups.smart.userEnabled

Each of these are gonna have a lil toggle icon on the right hand side that looks like a funky double-ended arrow. Click that and the value next to it should change to false. It all auto saves as you go. Some of these might already be set to false by default and that's peachy.

The next best thing you can do for yourself is to set your default search engine to udm14 or Qwant, but for now, we're just tidying the garden a lil bit.

Period appropriate chickens ("heritage breeds") do still exist, and even include some very fancy ladies, such as:

The Brahma, a popular giant known for its massive meat production and comically large eggs.

The cochin, seen here with gold and black 'lace' pattern

The barred plymouth, an incredible forager for lightly wooded terrain

The fayoumi, often regarded as The Oldest Breed of chicken

The wyandotte, a particularly good forager as well as a bulky, meaty bird.

The Minorca, a Spanish bird with stunning black feathers

And of course, the famous indonesian ayam cemani, which has black meat and bones

Old timey chickens often ARE the 'fancy' ones!

I love this incredibly niche complaint! Get some heritage breeds, they do totally still exist. Same could likely be said about some other animals like pigs, sheep, and cows.
