Just a couple of notes I have so spoilers for the pro-shot of the guy who didn't like musicals below you know the drill

Hey so I was very happy to get the pro-shot but they better hope this isn't what they're releasing on YouTube because the edit is NOT polished fully like full love to them but I would rather wait longer than have a half-assed job where the audio cuts out in a lot of places, there's these weird clunky transitions where they were splicing edits together and clearly didn't notice how poorly it was done and then the weird red wash edit of Emma when her leg was impaled??? Like other than that I was happy and I love starkid with all my heart but please don't release this one to the general public please fix it before youtube release I'm begging. I love this show with my entire heart and even I can't get past the jankiness of the splicing, poor audio, and the ONE weird editing choice at the end with Emma literally that shit was so jarring lol

as an og starkid fan for a loooooong and having watched all the shows, i think a lot of y'all hate on hatchetfield too much like we do not have to pit one bad bitch against another all of starkids musicals are amazing end of story

one thing i will never get over in the guy who didn't like musicals is in the scene with paul and mcnamara where paul admits he wants emma and mcnamara points his gun at paul before handing it over and i think for a split second paul is probably thinking "am i gonna get shot for having a crush on a girl?!"

my thoughts on the tgwdlm remount (spoilers)

-everyone saying will branner's hidgens is superior is correct. he did everything better and there's nothing you can say to change my mind

-the INSANE paulkins moments that have my head reeling still like they went harder on their relationship and thank you for forever for that, starkid

-my fave new moment is probably in america is great again. The choreography is off the fucking charts along with the lighting, but when Emma and Paul are reaching for each other in slow-mo? I am deceased

(sorry for the poor quality lol)

-they went absolutely sicko mode with adding music motifs and just background music in general. Adding it to the scenes like with Charlotte made it a million times better

-I do miss the shrub line but honestly am dying over "Oh my god. I'm UNEMPLOYED." and also "Is this a dead end too?" "Noooooo."

-the set design THE SET DESIGN. They changed the whole game with it. More than before while still minimalizing the need to be over the top. I especially love Hidgens panic room part of the set

-Charlotte and Sam trying to make Emma and Paul kiss then bashing their heads together

-the train bit in the opening number

-the car bit that was added to show me your hands is amazing

-The choreography is a 15/10 I cannot emphasize this enough

-Mr. Davidson miming a veryyyy curvy woman and Paul going, "That's too many!!"

-Mr. Davidson choking Paul with the phone cord and Paul saying "I wanna go home!" in a strained voice

-Paul just being more smitten with Emma in general. I really liked that addition

-Emma and Paul clinging to each other more and being more handsy with each other *chefs kiss*

-Paul and Charlotte's ET/mind meld moment

-Those intense moments with the background sound building and then immediately breaking the tension with comedic timing

-"It's in my mouth! It's in my mouth."

-Paul cradling Bill when his corpse collapses against him is so sad :'(

Everyone just really knocked it out of the park and I'm so happy they remounted it and I can't wait for the pro-shot version I'm am just dhdgsgsudbdhaj

-the moment when Paul wakes up after the helicopter crashed and is moaning and then realizes he's fine after he unbuckles and just goes, "Okay!"

-The meteor being POKOTHO'S FACE!!!

-I just really enjoyed the ways the actors delivered their lines differently from the original to make it something different and fun like yeah I definitely miss some of the iconic deliveries of lines but I really think they created something fun by trying new things

-the wheelie chairs for everyone especially ted

-Mr. Davidson saying "I didn't forget" in a whisper to Paul during what do you want paul

-Emma retching when she looks at Sam while talking to Charlotte

-Everyone's voices were sooooo amazing but specifically a shout out to Mariah who FUCKING KILLED IT

-all the hatchetfield characters that were included in the background of lah dee dah dah day, especially just max jaegerman singing kills me every time

not me having an epiphany that the reason i like hunter and willow together so much is because they literally are my first otp davejade

can't tell if i just don't have the same sort of passion/drive to write fics anymore or if my mind is just waging war on me for not having finished this fic passion project of mine that has been going on for two years like yeah man i agree i need to finish it at some point and i will since i've dedicated so much of my time to it wrap it up bud

i know this isn't news but to me i didn't know homestuck was back and it's just please fucking end it i'm literally so tired of seeing something so half-baked come back full force a girl can only see jade's whole character turn out awful so much

just was thinking about it and like they never really touch on it much but do u think raz genuinely has precognition and that the reason he wears goggles is because he saw the girl scout leader thing or something bc like she tries to pluck his eyes out and he's like "that's the purpose of the goggles!"

...or like does this kid just have one too many run ins with ppl trying to pluck out his eyes (distressing)

a tad spoiler-y so don't read under the cut if you don't want spoilers

literally my only complaint about psychonauts 2 is that you don't get to have raz start learning water powers. i absolutely adore the theme that different families have certain specialties--the booles have animal powers, the zanottos have plant powers. the aquatos have water, and i wish it was at least touched on a little bit at the end of the game. i realize it's a game mechanic and that after the game if you fall in the water it no longer pulls you under but gently balances you, but i still wanted to see just a tad more.

but overall i loved that game so much!!!

hello!!

yes, i’ve been doing okay :) i do have intentions of continuing writing to the rhythm of your wild heart, but i must admit i’m in a bit of a writing rut at the moment :/ i haven’t felt like fleshing out writing for a while, but i really do want to get back into it again! so hopefully soon i will make good on that. in the meantime, i can offer you a little snippet of what i’ve got so far for the next chapter, so enjoy!! :)

Scanning the rest of the lobby, she surmised that no, her class was not up yet, but just as she turned to set off and find a quiet place to enjoy herself, she spotted Farkle curled up in the bay window of the hotel. Riley made to creep up on him, but as she got closer, she couldn’t help but admire him.

The morning sun kissed his face and shoulders, highlighting his sea-blue eyes and defining his sharp jawline. He was focused intently on the book in his hands—Cosmos by Carl Sagan, a book Riley was certain he’d read on numerous occasions. As she approached him, the scent of pine hit her nostrils, the distinct aroma of the expensive cologne Farkle wore that she’d come to appreciate and a smile graced her face at the sight of him, her best friend.

“Don’t you have any other books you’d like to read?” she asked him, drawing attention to herself as she took up residence opposite of him, right at the end of his feet where he’d sprawled his long legs out on the bench of the window. He peered up from his book, a lopsided grin forming on his face.

“I could, but I like this one quite well. Also, I know for a fact that you brought a Harry Potter book with you on this trip. Pot, meet Kettle.”

“Touché,” Riley said, sipping at the coffee in her hand. “How long have you been down here?”

“About an hour. I woke up and couldn’t back to sleep, so I just got ready and came down here to read. It was pretty nice until you showed up,” he joked. Riley rolled her eyes at him fondly.

“Please, I’m great company. Also, I brought two pastries, so keep talking and you won’t get one.”

Farkle conceded and Riley gave him one that looked like it had raspberry jam on it, taking a bite into her own after. She cackled when the raspberry filling got caught on his upper lip, mocking offense when he rubbed some on her cheek with his thumb to get even.

Being in Italy with Farkle just felt . . . right to her. Like it was exactly where she was supposed to be.
