BUTTERFLY ZAM!!!

that's lifesteal season eight Zam design! i took so long to figure it out but in the end i think it turned out okay :)

I started drawing her ever since she first showed her new mc skin on stream and i definitely struggled with giving her an outfit that balances both her cute style and something thats fighting appropriate.

I wanted to fit her Air theme so I contemplated giving her bird features, but I think a butterfly theme would fit her even better :D

I think some of y'all create mcyt siblings headcanons because you don't know how to deal with a man and a woman being friends. Like I have rarely ever seen people headcanon two men or two women as siblings, it's usually only ever a man and a woman. You guys know a man and a woman can be friends right? They don't have to have a sibling dynamic to just be platonic friends?

Finding out that Pearl's parents had their irl home moved by having it chopped in half and moved on two trucks actually makes sense. This is a genetic problem. She's seen it happen in real life and now she knows it's possible. Father and Mother Moon created a monster.

I can’t speak for Pearls family obviously, but as an Australian this is relatively common. Especially in rural areas

To clarify, this isn’t like brick houses or anything modern built into a foundation. It’s mainly old wooden houses that are up on stilts. Generally the stilts are for airflow and sometimes because you live in an area that floods

Sometimes people semi build them in with like fencing (above left), as like an entertainment area or for storage or parking. They aren’t always up high enough to stand under though, some sit quite low, and again they are for airflow so completely building them in would defy the point

That said, some people do choose to convert the underside to inside. But generally those aren’t the ones you see being moved. And are in an area where they aren’t as worried about flooding

This is a look at the process for moving/re-stumping (changing out the stilts if they are rotting). To be honest I couldn’t tell you how it’s done, but it looks impressive watching a house be lifted and carted away

Most of these style of houses started off fairly small, like 4/5 rooms and a porch, so they will fit on a single truck. Bigger houses are chopped up and transported in chunks

Generally when you see one of them on the highway it means pulling over so they can pass. They have several cars escorting them with lights and signs (and sometimes police) so you know when you are approaching one. They also try to move them at quieter times, like late at night so there are less people on the road. They do not sneak up on you

There are entire businesses that deal in second hand houses. Buying, selling and moving houses that would otherwise be bulldozed. Occasionally you will see several houses just sitting on a lot on temporary stilts, but I couldn’t find a good image to show

the wider fandom really needs to sit down and think about who the minecraft youtuber boundary panopticon benefits. how does this make for a good fandom community dynamic. when your streamer is actively encouraging you to find boundary breakers and snitch on them to do... what exactly. what's the end goal. are we really going to let them decide for us that fandom is for the creators to exclusively see things they like and not for us to play toys in peace. like yes the fault belongs to them for setting these ridiculous fucking rules and expecting everyone to follow along. but you are actively enabling this behavior by lending boundary culture legitimacy. they would not have the audacity to say shit about spying on boundary breakers live on stream if their chat wasn't full of people going yasss king kill those weird fans who don't bend to your every whim. it's not as if the only option is to become a sycophant to remain in good standing. you can choose to express dissent, or even simply not add your voice to the hundreds already telling the streamer it's ok to go on a weird moral crusade.

Btw, even if 'cc boundaries' were a good idea and in theory ought to be enforced, in practice that is an incredibly dangerous environment to create.

Let's think this through. If you tell your fandom to police what other fans make and inform you if someone is breaking your boundaries... and the main topics you ban are gore/sex/'mature' content... and a fairly large subset of your fans are teenagers/children....

what do you think is going to happen?

The answer is an army of children harrassing people on your behalf, while constantly exposing themselves to smut & gore. They will then either write callout posts to try to punish the creators (often reading/examining the content in-depth to do so) or sending the porn/gore/mature content directly to you (or older fans with more social clout who loudly proclaim their dedication to this fight¹) to deal with, in the name of protecting their fave.

To be clear, I have seen this happen before in other fandom contexts, it is not a theoretical outcome. And it is FAR far more dangerous than any story someone could write and post on AO3, or any art posted to Twitter.

This is an environment that will get kids/teenagers hurt, regardless of intention. It's the underpinning of why I'm so vehement about freedom of speech and creativity within fandom, because no matter what intentions are, the reality is that 'cc boundaries' create an environment that is extremely hospitable to abusers.

¹ Even if your intentions are pure as the driven snow, some of the adults who campaign vehemently for enforcing boundaries will inevitably be doing so because they are creeps who like exposing kids to nsfw content. The cleverer predators privately convince kids to RP/write/draw 'boundary breaking' content, which is then used as blackmail to ensure secrecy or else risk ostracization if they went public with the abuse. This is not a hypothetical.

How to avoid shipping problems

1) Make sure shipping fics are appropriately labelled.

2) Ignore things with those labels

3) If you have problems with 1 or 2 which are things you can control, do not post a diatribe on the main tag telling people that they are gross and disgusting and they should leave the main tag, because that is gross and disgusting.  

It’s sickening to come into this place and seeing people hating others because they do something harmless you don’t like.  I am embarrassed that this is representing Hermitcraft fandom.  I have no control here, I cannot stop you but the shaming has to stop.
