i rlly dont want the theater industry to die. seeing a movie is like?? a hard emotional reset when i need it most. get away from my family + my house and sit in big dark room for 2 hours eating overpriced food???? that is the closest i will get to heaven before i die. i love movie theaters so much. please God let them live

Welcome back to Movie Monday! Let’s talk about Legally Blonde and Clueless.

These are two different movies but with very similar aesthetics.

Clueless was released in 1995 and Legally Blonde in 2001. Some people believe than the second one is the sequel to the first one. But those are just theories, right?

Both have iconic fashion moments and strong female main characters.

Clueless is about a teenager, Cher, who’s life is “perfect”. She’s rich, smart, pretty and popular. She wants to help those who are less fortunate, so she tries to be a matchmaker for two of her teachers. She wants to be more than just a superficial girl and find true love. But in order to achieve that she needs to become her true self.

Legally Blonde also has a girl who has it all, Elle Woods. She dates the perfect fraternity boy, she’s rich and has a perfect life. But when her boyfriend starts to have doubts about her (and marry her) they split up. He goes to Harvard and Elle does everything that she can to get in too. Once she’s there she needs to start fighting for herself and prove that nor herself or any blonde girl is stupid.

These two movie show young-adults, more specifically girls and women, to fight and defend themselves against the world.
