The last art I made for Wen Qing's week, held by @wenqingbdaybash2025. Still the is one more I finished before, but I wanted to put these in order. These last 3 were showing good memories so I put them as the final day too, I tried to make them old painting-ish. I hope it worked well.

Day 2 : Gift / Tradition Day 7 : Memories / Family

10 years old WQ and her mother. The package is a rolled fabric case for acupuncture needles.

Sky had issues posting the image yesterday, so I got all stressed and gave up posting for the day.

Day 3 : Medicine / Knowledge / Prodigy Day 7 : Memories / Family

19 years old WQ feels she always had room to improve. She didn't feel a prodigy, just a hard worker. Meanwhile, WN helps reminding her to take breaks.

I tried to made the 3 of the pre-canon art like old paintings. I hope it went decent. I'm not a writer, but the 3 of them have a little ficlet to give context to the art [in total it's just 1288 words but no beta sorry]

The sun was rising in the horizon, showering the both of them in golden light as they couldn't help to look back one last time.

The first sketch had some spider lilies too, but they could get all the focus even if blurred - and I did like the greyish way it went.

Summary: In the Burial Mounds, Wen Qing is trying to hide per pregnancy by Jiang Cheng. The Ghost Brides are trying to tell Wei Wuxian. Jiang Cheng comes with an army as a ruse to save her.

Day 5 : Sunrise / Sunset

It's not she doesn't see her brother is beside her, it's she's focussing too much in keep her breathing when taking the last steps back to the twisted Jin's hell and everything just blurs trying to vision herself keeping calm.

I tried multiple thumbnails for this idea, going more realist... going more oneiric, but when I sketched Wen Qing in ghostly like Wen robes I fell for it. I hope you like it too.

Summary: Wen Qing holds onto what traditions she can. Aka The Winter Solstice Festival as celebrated in the Burial Mounds.

So here is my first entry for WQ's week, held by @wenqingbdaybash2025

Day 1 : Color [Golden]

+ a *488* words short fic on Ao3: We are golden.

I really wanted to have the golden more golden, but haha - shinny energy. I didn't want the red to be too predominant, but between the bloody situation and she being a Wen... well. Red gets the pass.

I wanted having her wearing a sleeve grabber (Pan Bó 襻膊) for working [I did too for the Wei animatic], but realized there are two kinds of it and I find she could have one more secure one to last for a surgery of many many hours. Do I like them? Nah, the animelike is prettier... but this one makes more sense to me - not that the normal knotted ribbon is not strong, but she must be used to use the damn thing daily with pacients, so have one ready could be handy too.
