A rare Full Blue Moon will appear in the sky on May 31, 2026 🌕💙
On May 31, 2026, the Moon will reach its full phase, becoming a rare calendrical Blue Moon as the second Full Moon of May and will be visible shortly after sunset.
Despite the name, it won’t actually look blue. A “Blue Moon” simply refers to the second Full Moon occurring within the same calendar month, which only happens every few years. The event is considered rare enough to inspire the phrase “once in a blue moon.”
