Monster Hunter - King Ghidorah
Here he is everyone, the largest monster and reference for my MH kaiju redesigns. Finished this all at night and wanted to adjust everything to fit into the art. I will stop making references for MH kaiju redesigns for now, but I do have ideas for future possibilities.
The leading Alpha of the Ghidorah's, a malevolent, tyrannical, Demi-Elder. An impossible anatomy, with a destructive appetite to match its body and size. The very monster that has driven regions and monsters to extinction.
The many Ghidorah’s that were invading the regions suddenly began to flee from them, leaving many confused on why. However we were then urgently called from the Iceshard Cliffs, the weather had begun to worsen there, as we noticed the clouds rolling in, with yellow thunder. Upon arriving there at the campsite, Rove was there, he told us that Gojira had arrived and was roaming the area, “erratic and frightful with a feeling of familiar hatred” he said.
We quickly took action to investigate and hauntingly, many of the monsters along our investigation were inside of sheltered areas fearful. Some were running from the direction where the newly opened area was at, which we quickly discovered Gojira’s footprints. Upon arriving there, Kori Maguma was nowhere to be seen, Gojira as well, which some minutes later, a faint roar in the distance was heard.
The clouds began to show a silhouette of a monster slowly flying down. We saw what we presumed to be the cause of all this and the alpha, a Ghidorah with three heads and two tails. As it landed and saw us, the left head approached with curiosity, the right approached with aggression, the middle looked as if it were studying us.
Until the heads retreated, and it roared, echoing throughout the region and beyond, and began to attack us. Unsure what to do but fight it as long as we could, yet it wielded overwhelming physical power against us, breathing thunderous beams of lighting. However, not long after the ice began to shift, a blue glow was seen from the waters.
Gojira erupted from the ice, face to face with the monster we fought. Both of them roared at each other for a brief moment, before they clashed.
After some time, Gojira struggled against it, fearing that we may not make it. Unexpectedly, help arrived from both hunters and Kori Maguma, this sudden surprise caused this Ghidorah to retreat. However as it flew upwards, Gojira roaring, we knew this was not over, as in the future, we would face it again, even against its army of Ghidorah’s.
The mysterious hunters had long hoped the lord of terror was a myth, as they called it, King Ghidorah.

From the first encounter and the heads alone, King Ghidorah is presumably very intelligent, scarily enough to be aware and conscious. We can also assume the heads act differently on their own, the left head seems to be the most curious, the right being the most aggressive. The middle which we may assume is the leader, all the heads having individual minds of their own, meaning separate brains, is such an impossible feat of biology.
From the first encounter we can observe it is larger than the Ghidorah species, which would conclude it being the Alpha of the species. Peculiarly with the multiple heads and tail, we can also presume it to be a Variant of the Ghidorah species, which would be the first in the Forbidden Lands. There is still one thing from the behavior from the Ghidorah’s that leaves us questions about their connections.
Despite both Ghidorah’s and King Ghidorah being related, the Ghidorah’s seem fearful in an unusual way to King Ghidorah. While it makes sense for Alphas to invoke more fear due to their size, the Ghidorah’s are fearful of even flying when King Ghidorah flies around areas. Making assumptions that the Ghidorah species is somewhat dependent on King Ghidorah unconventionally, a fearful co-dependence.

King Ghidorah shares the same elemental and paralysis ailment that the Ghidorah’s has, but to a much greater degree. However King Ghidorah is also capable of manipulating the weather to create thunderous storms, with no rain however. With its body, elemental and weather capabilities, it would be classified as a Demi-Elder. Despite its body being impossibly unnatural and not being a full fledged Elder Dragon, it still is powerful as one.
To note the weather manipulation, it would have to be similar to Amatsu.
The anatomy of King Ghidorah can only be possible with a rare phenomenon of tricephaly and polycaudal. However no monster in the world that we have yet to know and understand, has ever had three heads. This would make King Ghidorah something that would be impossible to exist defying the natural born fundamentals of monsters.

King Ghidorah would share the same elemental immunities and weakness due to its relations to the Ghidorah’s.
We also can assume and speculate the same body parts that can be broken and tails being severable due to its relation. However, breaking the heads is added twice since there's three.
Gojira seems to have a grudge against King Ghidorah, with how these two fought they could be considered rivals. However the size difference makes us question it.
From what we heard from the mysterious hunters, King Ghidorah was said to be responsible for decimating regions. Consuming and ravaging everything it sees along with the Ghidorah’s as they said. This unnatural unruly nature of King Ghidorah has caused some species to almost or completely go extinct.
One region King Ghidorah veers away the most is the Oilwell Basin, due to Gogmazios roaming the lowest parts of the region. We may even believe Gogmazios could equally take down King Ghidorah if it chose to.
King Ghidorah could only be stopped through a united effort, however Hunters and weapons aren’t enough to stop it and the swarm entirely. We may need help from the monsters themselves to end all of this.
There’s been speculation of where King Ghidorah is taking roost, at a region yet to be seen, believed to be called Titans Gorge. Where many dominant monsters roamed there before.
