but what actually threw me was finding out an artist i followed draws redfield incest...
and no before anyone starts, i was NOT looking for that shit 💀 i followed bc i liked their art style and didn’t catch the tags/captions at first
then i opened the cw and saw “redfieldcest” and took psychic damage immediately like WHAT THE ACTUALLY FUCK WAS THAT.
what made it even crazier was stumbling onto a post abt it afterward where ppl were saying they found it disturbing even if fictional which is a completely normal reaction btw.
and then the replies were FULL of ppl thanking the op for “putting them on” because now they had a new artist to follow??
while others were in the comments defending it like anyone being uncomfortable with incest content was somehow overreacting
like yes we can have the whole “dark fiction/taboo fiction/it’s fictional” conversation all day
but are we genuinely at the point where saying “hey this makes me uncomfortable actually” gets treated like puritan censorship???
bc sorry but incest is one of those topics a LOT of ppl are always gonna find deeply disturbing whether fictional or not (for our mental health YES THIS IS SRS THING OUT THERE.)
u can support artistic freedom, and still think certain content is nasty as hell. those two things can coexist btw
so genuine question:
why do some ppl act like saying

is morally equivalent to harassing the artist???
