the shapeshifter!angel x lilah scene is so special to me bc of what it says about lilah. we see her pause for a second when he kisses her, consider it, and then she jumps right to tearing his clothes off. when she tried to seduce lindsey in s2 in order to frame him we see that she has no qualms using her sexuality for her own advantage. and when he goes in to kiss her i do think it's implied that she wavers, that part of her wants that intimacy with him. but with angel there's nothing to gain from it. with him it's purely the wanting to. but at no point is the dynamic between them ever romantic; lilah is not in love with him. the angel scene shows us that lilah is lonely, that she’s looking for genuine human connection and she’s so desperate for it that she’ll even take it in this sorry excuse of a form. for her, sex is the most efficient and the least vulnerable way to intimacy, and quite possibly the only strategy she has to get there.
