Let’s be clear about one thing: the one reason Disney and KK are trying to erase Cara Dune from history is not because of “woke” politics, but because they want people to forget there is one woman in Hollywood who was bullied by them and straight up refused to kneel before their tyranny. They want people to forget this because if one can do that, everyone can, and that is exactly what every totalitarian regime fears most.
Gina's interview with Ben Shapiro is now on YT. I encourage everyone to watch for an eye opening look at the way she was treated by Disney and Lucasfilm.
Amazon Unveils a [Horrifying] Fanfic Publishing Platform
Today, Amazon announced the imminent launch of its newest endeavor, Kindle Worlds, a publishing platform for fanfiction. When I read the announcement, I was horrified, then angry, then sad. I want to take a moment to explain why this is such a tragedy.
If you don’t feel like reading after the read more, here is the most important stand out of Kindle World’s TOS.
“By using the platform, authors give all rights to the work to Amazon, who can then license your elements to other authors with no compensation to the original poster.”
If you want to retain rights to your work, don’t use this site. Stick to AO3.

Din paced outside of the bedroom door. Cara had excused herself sometime ago and he hadn’t heard from her at all since; he couldn’t help but worry. It was the 10-year anniversary of the destruction of her home-world, Alderaan. Of course, Din knew that, but that didn’t mean he knew what to do. Cara wasn’t someone who typically like to talk about her feelings, but the two had become close over the past few months, so it felt right to be there for her, even if he wasn’t sure how to.
Cara being the first person he had been this close to in years, meant that he had no experience with this type of thing. Talking to people, being their comfort, was not something he was familiar with. He was definitely at a loss, to say the least.
“Can I come in, Cara?” he asked with a soft knock on the door. Since she had gone into the room some time ago, he half expected her to be asleep. But despite it being dark outside, it was still early.
“Oh, what the hell,” she muttered, barely loud enough for him to hear. He was almost certain she just didn’t have any fight in her to tell him to go away.
He wasn’t sure how long he had been standing there, but after some time, her voice broke the silence between them.
“It’s funny how the night can make us blind,” she said humourlessly.
“If you are silent about your beliefs because you are worried someone will be offended, then your beliefs are not that important to you but rather what people think about you is. What people see about you will speak more loudly than how people feel about you, because in the end, when we stand up for what is right and true, we will have many who hate us or love us but all will know what we are fighting for.” - Gina Carano
i encourage you to go to your favourite writer's ao3 page and comment on an older fic, because i can assure you that it will make their day. It can mean so much to see your work doesn't disappear into the void to be never seen again after a day of people interacting with it. Just, if you have the time, go comment on an older work
(pls reblog this to try and get as much writers a bit of appreciation)

Y'alllll--Why would they cut that?! Like, I was too shocked with all that was going on in that episode to actually cry--but that would've done it for my shippy little Caradin heart! 🥺

Thursday. Another workday was about to start.
It wasn’t that King didn’t like working, he actually quite enjoyed his job at his family’s nursery, it was just that he had a certain brunette on his mind all week. And although the weekend was almost there, he wasn’t sure when he would see her again.
That was why he wasn’t looking forwards to another day at work.
King glanced at his phone as he turned his alarm off; a message from Elaine saying thanks, again, for taking her early shift that day. He normally worked the afternoon/evening shifts because he wasn’t much of a morning person, but Elaine had mentioned she had some sort of appointment in the morning that she needed before she could start work in the city. King briefly wondered who they would hire to replace her next spring, since she was no longer a student and would be staying in the city at her new job. Although they had no one in mind as of yet, he was sure another student would fill the position. One nice thing about the nursery was that their busiest season was summer break for students.
King rolled out of bed, dreading the early morning start as he readied for the day.
The gentle light from the morning sun peeked through the windows of the bedroom. It was early still, but the light never failed to wake Diane up these days. Part of her missed the days that she and King would sleep in until nearly midday; the days when she could sleep when and where ever she wants. But this was a new chapter of their life, and an exciting one at that.
Diane rolled over and admired the sight of her sleeping husband; the rise and fall of his chest with each soft breath; the auburn hair gently framing his face. The faint smile on his lips had her curious about his current dream.
She pressed a soft kiss to his cheek before turning to get out of bed. She knew at this point that she wouldn’t fall back asleep now, and there was no point lying in bed if it was only going to disturb King’s sleep. She dressed and readied for the day quietly in the bathroom, as she did every morning, before heading to the kitchen for some breakfast.
After eating some fresh fruit she had gathered the previous day, she headed outside for a short stroll among the forest. This was one of her favourite ways to spend the early summer mornings; the light from the rising sun filtering through the trees; the luscious grass beneath her feet, warm from the earth. The Fairy King’s Forest had been home to her for a couple years now, yet she never grew tired of it, and she knew she never would. Naturally she loved the earth and the Fairy King’s Forest was no exception. She had fallen in love with it the first time she was there, and now that it was home, she couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.
She walked out towards the small meadow on a nearby hill that King had shown her, it was one of his favourite spots and soon became one of hers as well. She often opted to walk bare foot in the summer because she loved the feel of earth beneath her. Once she made it to the meadow, she took a seat on the grass, looking out at the trees ahead of her. It was still early, and although the sun was up, it would stay behind the tall trees for a little while longer.

King watched out the window as the small group of friends drove out towards their destination for the week. He hadn’t exactly been excited to go on a trip with his younger sister and her ridiculous boyfriend. But he also couldn’t say no when Elaine had asked, well practically begged, him to join so her friend could also go without feeling like a third wheel. They had been planning the trip for weeks now, and as much as he told himself he didn’t want to go, he was kind of looking forward to the weeklong hike they had planned. The actual hiking itself was four days total, but they planned to spend some time on the beaches in between hiking days. It was mid-summer and the weather predictions had been in their favour. King only hoped that it actually stuck. He had been hiking enough times to make the most out of any trip, but good weather was always preferred.
“I can’t believe this is your first real hike!” Elaine looked back at Elizabeth who sat quietly beside King in the back seat of the car.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” she said quietly.
King didn’t know her too well, but all the times he had met her, she was always quiet and almost a little shy. Not that he was much of a talker himself. Perhaps that is why he had agreed to tag along. He had always preferred solo hikes, there was just something about the solidarity of being along in the forest that just worked for him. Growing up, his family had spent lots of time travelling and exploring through various outdoor activities. Hiking being one of their favourites.
“Hey! Are you even listening?” Elaine’s voice pulled King from his thoughts. She had turned around in her seat and was waving her hand in front of him to get his attention.
“Hm?” he looked at her apologetically. “Sorry…”
“She asked if you need to stop anywhere in town!” Ban, Elaine’s annoying boyfriend, asked from the driver’s seat before she could repeat herself.
“Maybe ten more minutes until we’re there,” Elaine added.
“No. I’m okay, thanks,” he replied to his sister.
“I think the guy at the office said there’s supposed to be two other hikers coming on the boat with us,” Elaine said to Ban.
“You know I’m only here for you. This isn’t exactly something I’d choose to do on my own,” he teased her.
King rolled his eyes at Ban’s comment before focusing his attention back out the window.
