Witch Hat Atelier's Summer 2026 Art Contest!

Calling all artists for Witch Hat Atelier's Summer 2026 Art Contest!

Hey everyone! We are hosting an art contest (originally meant as a 15k milestone celebration but stuff happened lol).

The theme is Summer! Below we will go over a series of sub-themes and specifications. Please read these thoroughly. 

Summer sub-theme recommendations (but not limited to):

Sundresses and summer witch fashion

Lantern festivals and glowing streets

Summer picnic with friends

Flying with friends on a sunny day

Sketching and spell-drawing inside the atelier

Fireworks viewing beneath the night sky

Firefly catching at dusk

Shaved ice and summer treats

Magical night markets

Wind chimes and paper wishes (Tanabata)

Golden hour at the atelier

Pride month themes mixed with summer are welcome!

Format and Size:

Aspect Ratio: 16:9

Recommended Resolutions: 1920 x 1080, 1280 x 720

File Formats: PNG, JPEG, WEBP, GIF, APNG, MP4, WEBM, and MKV.

Animation allowed

(May need to compress original file below 10mb for server banner)

Submission Rules & Guidelines:

All submissions must be related to Witch Hat Atelier.

Artwork must follow the contest theme: Summer.

Both digital and traditional art are allowed.

Collaborations are allowed, but all collaborators must be credited in the submission.

Tracing, heavy referencing, or AI-generated artwork is not allowed.

Minor editing tools and post-processing are fine, but the artwork itself must be created by the participant(s).

Entries must be new artwork created for this contest. Please do not submit older pieces. If you had already submitted a piece prior to the servers removal please use this form to re-submit.

Keep submissions appropriate for the series. Any NSFW or swimsuit material is not allowed.

Submit your artwork by filling out the form with the following:

Your artwork file

3 WIP sketches or progress clip from your drawing app

Title of the piece (optional)

Short description or caption (optional)

Credits for collaborators (if applicable)

Submissions Closing Date: 26th July 6PM CEST.  Winners Announcement: 2nd August  6PM CEST.

Prizes:

1st Place: Art contest winner role + Nitro rewards. 

2nd Place & 3rd Place: Nitro rewards In case of a collaboration, your rewards may be evenly distributed.

Questions and Answers:

Q: This form collects our email why?  A: This is as a fall back in case the discord goes down again. This way we can keep the contest running even without it. Email's are only shared with Ido. 

Q: How will the winners be chosen?

A: We will use the discord to let everyone vote. In the event this goes down it will move to a staff only vote. Winners will be announced through our socials and will be emailed.

Please read

An overview of the last 24~ hours. Several days ago now the blue lock discord was struck down for tenor gifs which are provided from tenor to discord as an official partner and links to official sources. As we now no longer know where to draw the line I made the decision to lock everything down. How long this will last we do not know.

We’ve since sent numerous people inquiries as to what is going on. (Turn based email combat) To be frank I ideally don’t want to lose the server once more, and I want to try everything I can to keep it and our members connected. Which is part of why I launched these social handles. But now with everything that has happened, this goofy little side project has become much more to me than just a community and a project.

After a long 4 hour walk seeing the sights of my holiday stay and clearing my head I know what I want to do. Even in the worst case scenario we will keep existing one way or another. I know many came to us as a goofy little place to chat or to join in on theories, events and much more. And I will continue to strengthen and embolden these idea's, these activities that made us, us.

Because of this I will be making a special announcement Monday. There's plan's I've had for a very long time, and while it may longer see the light of day in the way I had envisioned it at first, it is still a plan I want to move forward with. Same with the summer contest, this event will happen regardless of how the future unfolds.

Dwelling on the negative that has happened these recent weeks won't get us anywhere, so let's keep moving onward and see what the future will bring. Will see you all Monday for something exciting.
