I’m really glad that you found my blog and your daughter sees how beautiful she is! I’m happy that I changed my theme up to a Briar one for Briar Appreciation Month to highlight what a wonderful and beautiful character she is :)

This is why representation is important, guys. I have no idea if anyone on the EAH design team is active on Tumblr, but I do hope they see stuff like this and add more dolls like Briar and Cedar to the line up. Dolls that show girls that they are beautiful how they are.Young girls love having beautiful dolls that look like themselves. There are already plenty of beautiful white girls in the line so let’s see some more beautiful women of color in EAH so more girls like this Anon’s daughter can have the experience of seeing a doll that looks like them and finding that doll beautiful.

The Bat Girl shoes from Jeffrey Campbell are from 2014 (released just a couple of weeks ago) and the original design is from 2013! please signal boost this and help a small brand. ”People of tumblr please support a small company! Cloudberry Lady designed Bat Shoes in 2013 and these shoes highly resemble our design. So much it’s almost hard to believe to be just a co-incidence, which I’m not denying it still could be.

It is not a revolutionary video — at least, it shouldn’t be. Deceptively simple in form and function, You & I uses only a progression of medium shots of individual women. Presented with their totality, the differences fade away, and we are left with the fact that before anything else, women are simply and unignorably people.

That this is hailed as a radical political statement shows the sad state of our culture. But it makes such simple statements all the more important to make.

I found out today that I have two younger cousins who are both Monster High and Ever After High fans. We talked about it for a little bit.

alistair wonderland is a humorless, kind of dour guy. He doesn’t particularly enjoy the company of the other wonderlandians, because he’s so over the nonsense associated with them, be it maddies speech patterns, lizzies weird association with decapitation, or kittys mischief. in the royals vs rebels conflict, he comes down more on the side of the royals, only because he wants to get his story over with so he can live a more quiet life.

bunny white/lapin/whatever they decided on now is a tiny, frantic girl. she speaks a mile a minute and almost always arrives early to pretty much anything, which kind of upsets her when no one else is there at the same time. she’s not happy with this arrangement, and would rather slow down her pace. in the royal vs. rebel conflict, she comes down on he rebel side, because she’s not looking forward to being lizzies errand girl

I know I say this a lot, but I really want Alistair to be POC because I have been told by so many stuck-up white girls that I can’t cosplay Alice because I’d make her look like “dirty” because of my skin.

Alice in Wonderland is just one of those fairytale characters that everyone casts as white because they’re “purer” like that, which is bull. I just want a beautiful, gothic, poc boy doll to prove to every one of those racists that anyone can be Alice, even a boy, even someone of color.

I want to see a child of Hua Mulan. (S)he has an androgynous appearance and a unisex name and clothing style There would be a running gag in the show on figuring out what his/her gender is. No one knows, not even the narrators. It could be like Pat from SNL.

not to mention that Hua Mulan was a real historical figure, not a fairy tale, and treating her life’s story like a myth or some such would dishonor her legacy. Same with Pocahontas. But yeah, to whoever wrote or agrees with this, non binary/gender neutral/androgynous people are not a “running gag.”

Not only that, one of the most important things about Mulan was that while her fellow soldiers were surprised to find out that their comrade was a girl, they weren’t angered. In fact, they were all “cool you served for 10 years and almost became a general, now hear this dumb poem about rabbits”. Literally. The idea of Mulan is being comfortable with one’s gender and how a person, even if identifying with a gender or no gender or many genders, can develop their own idea of what their gender identify means to them.

Mulan was a 16-year-old girl who kicked ass and wore pretty dresses. This confession is really gross and totally misinterpreting the Ballad of Hua Mulan.
