I love the idea that the younger heroes don’t know Cole from his Blackwatch days or any of his days after, so they have no idea that he’s probably more dangerous than all of them with a bounty higher than both of the junkers combined. These sweet things don’t see a seasoned warrior, see their good friend Cole, the silly jokester who always tries to make them smile and has ridiculous fashion sense and doesn’t get any of the trends the youngins are into nowadays, and that’s probably a sign of just how good at staying under the radar Cole is. They know logically that he’s a good fighter who can hold his own but they still think they need to protect him, that he needs someone to watch his back, and Cole is observant and totally aware that they feel this way and thinks it’s just the sweetest thing, so he’s happy to let them try to look after him and watch their attempts at being subtle.

But hoo boy does that little misconception get fixed fast when they watch him kill eight enemies with six shots after coming up out of nowhere so stealthily that even Hana’s mech hadn’t detected him, and Genji just laughs his ass off because he was also in on this

I will never post a headcanon against the cowboy’s name change or ignoring it. If you don’t like the name change that is up to you, but on this blog the name change will be respected. You can send in headcanons about the name change, but if they are against it, or promoting the idea that “Cole Cassidy” was a name of a bad person from the cowboy’s past or anything along those lines, they will be deleted.
