Ink demonth 23: stairs

I really wanted to be in this year's ink demonth, but thanks to exams and personal matters I couldn't. I do have some drafts from other days, ones I'll probably post later, but for now, I guess I'll try to do the rest of the month 🧍‍♀️

ok so I’ve seen your ships with Susie (Norman and Joey) and I’ve seen you ship Sammy and Joey so now I’m curious. What are your thoughts on Sammy x Susie?

Hey hey hey, sorry for the late response -

Sammy x Susie? Really it's just a solid ship. I see why many ship it, I like it too, mainly because of its fluff content. Two music lovers, one grumpy but is only soft towards that one special someone.

And then there's the "angst". Between twist Alice and prophet Sammy, I like to think that Susie doesn't forgive Sammy. still thinking it was Sammy who wanted to fire her.

Me personally? I always found myself imagining it as a one sided pinning. Susie starts working in the studio, she finds Sammy handsome and develops a crush on him, Sammy found Susie sweet and had a soft spot for her, but didn't share the same deep feelings for her as much as Susie. I also like to think joey knew that and used it to his advantage by firing Susie. Either way I like the ship though I've seen it done many times already. I tend to gravitate towards "rare pairs" and ships that would have interesting interactions and make good stories.

I'll give it a good 8/10. Also sorry if my writing seems off-

I don't like the dctl graphic novel designs.

So I decided I rather draw my own ones

Look I kno I'm a bit late to this- but Ill just state my opinion. Buddy's design is alright. It's not ban, just not what I expected. And in some panels he looks much younger or shorter than he is described.. tho wished the design was close to what the fandom had interpreted.

I'm not bashing on the artist , I like his style and work that he had the chance to put effort into- but the art style doesn't fit batim's theme...the piss yellow - I get why they chose it, but I feel like doing it in grey scale or like those old comics with washed out color's here and there-anything but piss yellow plz.

Anywho - I'll probably draw and rant about other designs. Don't get me started on SAMMY -

Hey fandom, who'd be interested in me hosting a map type fandom project to redraw the Dreams Come To Life graphic novel ?

I've had the idea to host something like this for a bit now. It would act as both a protest against the abysmal quality of the artwork and designs within the book, but also as a love letter to show Meatly and Mike that we want them to care as much as we do about their series. I'd love to hear your thoughts and if you'd be interested in participating.

@doodlingant @halfusek (This post is meant to be a bit clearer and thought out than my comment from before, sorry if the @ !!) Thank you both for pointing out these issues !! I want it to be clear that I respect Christopher Hastings (the novel's illustrator) and that this only protests his poor work conditions and those who put him in them. Below are examples of his other works, which clearly show he was well paid and given the time to draw these.

The project will state that it's a protest against his work conditions, not the man or his art, and will link to his other works as both evidence for my statements and as a way to promote his better works.

And as for the second issue.

I understand the worry about rewarding them. However, I see this project as more nuanced. The positive to them will be seeing people care for what they made, their community banded together to make something out of love and care for Bendy as a whole. This is essential to the protest as why else would they need to change anything if the fans didn't care ? The negatives to this will be that it'll almost act as a second leak of the book, more people may be exposed to it without having to pay to know the story and details, even if transformative. It would also show them just how many fans are dissapointed in them and how many want them to do better, how the whitewashing upset us, how we want accuracy and actual effort put into products they make. This may worry them, along with a message to boycott the original graphic novel in the first pages statement. Hoping this makes sense, I'm more than open to discuss these ideas and any other thoughts about this project concept. Might make a seperate post about my plans for the project so far soon enough too !!
