Optimism through the Eyes of Children
One thing remains consistent in the middle of life's ups and downs: my unwavering love for being among children. The presence of 4 children in my life has brought me immense joy and a renewed sense of purpose. I hope to make a lasting impression on their life as "ate," "tita," and "ninang," and to be remembered as someone they can look up to - kind, patient, loving, and strong.
Child No. 1 - To be remembered as a "Ate" who embodies strength and resilience:
Child #1 is my guidance counselor’s daughter. Through the eyes of child #1, I understood that being around children brings me great joy because it reminds me of the significance of embracing our inner child. I find delight and comfort in Child #1’s laughter - I muster the courage to address my own difficulties. Her eyes remind me that life will be okay, and the world isn’t so bad at all. This youngster has left an indelible imprint on my heart. In the future, I want to be remembered as an ate who, despite life's challenges, is strong, perseverant, and resilient. I hope I get the chance to teach her that life's difficulties are only stepping stones to greatness. Her Nanay has played a huge role in my senior year in college, specifically in my life, and I wish to return the favor through her child.
Child No.2 & 3 - To be remembered as a "Tita" who wholeheartedly supports:
Child #2 is my 4th eldest cousin's daughter, and Child #3 is my 5th eldest cousin's daughter. As a "tita" to children #2 and #3, my love for them has no boundaries, even though circumstances keep us apart at times. In my absence, I try to be a continual source of encouragement and support. My heart overflows with pride as I watch them grow up, and I treasure every time we spend together creating treasured memories. Being around my nieces has taught me that pleasure can be found in the tiniest gestures - a smile, a hug, or a shared chuckle. As I look into their eyes, I am reminded that kindness is free and can be given to everyone. I want to be remembered as a "tita" who was always there for them, even if it was from a distance, applauding them every step of the way. My affection for them motivates me to keep going in life, knowing that I have a mission to be a role model of patience and empathy.
Child No. 4 - on be remembered as a "Ninang" on whom one can rely:
Child #4 is my cousin's daughter and is my only "inaanak". Child #4 has a particular place in my heart. As her "ninang," I want to be a constant in her life, someone she can count on. She brought an incredible sense of delight into our family’s life from the day she was born. As she matures, I intend to be a guiding force in her life, nourishing her hopes and aspirations. I see the possibility to make a difference in the eyes of Child #4, to be remembered as a "ninang" who provided steadfast love and support. Being around her has taught me the genuine meaning of love and the importance of making a good difference in the lives of children. My love for kid #4 motivates me to be patient, caring, and kind, traits she can model as she travels her own path.
Being with children has opened up a wellspring of joy and significance in my life. My interactions with these four youngsters have reaffirmed the value of portraying strength, support, and reliability. I want to be known as an "ate," a "tita," and a "ninang" who leaves a legacy of compassion, patience, and love. These young souls have given me a cause to live, leading me to enjoy the joys of youth and the amazing bonds we have. I find motivation in their eyes to be the greatest version of myself and to leave a legacy of love, strength, and optimism for them to carry with them throughout their lives.
I've seen a wonderful shift in my life through the eyes of children, and it fills my heart with hope and pleasure. Their steadfast faith in the goodness of the universe, as well as their endless curiosity, have reignited my own sense of wonder and hope. As I go through the complexity and hardships of life, the simplicity of their cheerful laughter and unbounded imagination serves as a reminder to enjoy the small things and find happiness in the ordinary. Their innocence has become an indication of direction for me, illuminating my way and demonstrating that life's difficulties can be confronted with perseverance and a renewed sense of purpose.
In their company, I have rediscovered the beauty of living in the present moment, since they show me that the future is not something to dread, but rather a chance to develop, learn, and make lovely memories together. The unconditional love and trust they show me motivate me to be a better person by instilling in me a feeling of mission and a desire to make a good difference in their lives and the world they will inherit.
I discovered optimism in the limitless possibilities for tomorrow and the immense power of love and fostering connections through the eyes of children.
