Excuse me what??? 😲 This is literally the most incredible detail spotting, and it was hiding in plain sight all along?!!! Bravo, @elenatria ! 👏🤗💗 I’m… speechless? Okay here is one somewhat plausible explanation: the blond agent is in charge of not only watching Valery but also regularly searches his apartment for any forbidden to him research or proof of communication with Boris or Ulana. The agent is regularly freezing his ass off sitting in that car all night, so he decides to steal the cozy blanket from Valery’s bed for himself during one of his raids. He looks somewhat pleased having that blanket over his lap! Amazing find, I am quite honestly a tad jealous I haven’t spotted it!!! 💜💛💚

@litttlesilkworm, @elenatria, and @valerafan2 the KGB are lairy bastards.  In Russia there is a joke about the KGB agents becoming taxi drivers, and the punchline is that you just tell them your full name (including your patronymic) and they already know your address.  Just thought this would be an interesting tidbit to add :)

@litttlesilkworm I was suuuuuper excited when I saw the pics Johan had taken, especially since this is only the second promo still of the blond guy I’ve ever seen. And the blanket in his hands did look familiar but I didn’t give it much thought until I re-watched Valery’s first scene for belly reference and  I was like… O__O

Headcanon accepted, I’m sure the poor guy is freezing all night.

I should try to think of something more sinister but what comes to mind is a funny scene where Valery, fed up with being watched and sick of pretending he doesn’t see what’s going on, just walks up to the car and knocks on the glass. The guy rolls the window down and Valery shoves the blanket in his face.  Misha: “What is this…?”

Valery (annoyed): “For the cold.” (storms off)

How would Jared and Stellan react to our writings and art on them?

I know how they reacted to kami-ships-it’s art. 

I know @alyeen1 got Stellan to sign her Valoris print of my art. He was in a hurry but at least, um, he saw it. ;-P

As for Jarllan specifically, I know how Allegra reacted to it.

That said, I don’t know how they would react. To me it’s enough that we get some serious fan service whenever they meet. According to what they say about each other in interviews and @stellan-pip-69‘s awesome find from the bluray, they enjoy each other’s company very very much.

We know Stellan is a hugger. We know he cooked for Jared. We know they drank together. Enough said.

Dear Comrades! 🥳🎆🥂 After breaking our brains over it since at least January, it is my distinct pleasure to announce that we now have a definitive answer to the Misha mystery - the presumed deleted scene of the KGB agent (a.k.a. Misha) exiting his Volga and heading towards Valery’s building in daytime. I sent Craig Mazin a letter asking about it, and he graciously explained the missing scene to us!

I decided not to post his private reply in full here (please message me directly), but the truth is, the answer HAS been with us all along! It was our @elenatria​ who has been 100% right about the purpose of this scene - and Misha’s clothes were indeed the #1 clue.

It turns out, it was, indeed, a deleted scene at the very end of Episode 5, which took place in the morning following Valery’s suicide. Concerned about Valery not emerging from the building in the morning, Misha decides to go into the apartment to check on him. He was the one who found him.

Craig also confirms that after watching Valery for a number of months, Misha does end up caring for Valery and his well-being to an extent.

To think of it, it is nice to know that when Valery stood there on the sidewalk at 1 am and breathed in the April air for the last time, someone was there to look at him in that very moment with worry and concern.

What is the timeline of Valery's and Boris' relationship? They met in April 1986 and the show ended July 1987. There's a gap between Autumn and December. There's another gap between December and July. Do you think they were seeing each other during all that time in between?

True, we saw them together in episode 4 was when they met Tarakanov (August 1986).

There’s also September 1986 when they were operating the lunar rovers.

However, in October 1986 we did not see them together. We only saw the biorobots on the roof and Lyudmila in the park. 

That does not necessarily mean that Boris and Valery didn’t work together/keep in touch during October-November, but the next scene where we see them takes place in December 1986. 

To me that scene feels as if they hadn’t met for some time even if it is weird that they all met in Pripyat of all places. 

Then of course we have the gap between March 1987 and July 1987.

According to the script, they hadn’t kept in touch. Boris didn’t even tell Valery he had returned to Moscow - perhaps under the pretext of visiting his family. Maybe he never got the chance to call him because Charkov brought the news first.

I’m guessing he would have called him but you know, why call when the KGB does it for you?

Buuuuut that’s just show canon, we can imagine anything we want happening in-between. Personally, I prefer to imagine what happened after the last episode and I can think of dozens of scenarios where they live their remaining days together in Boris’ dacha in the country or they defect to the West with the help of our favourite blond agent.
