I love seeing primary documents on historical events. This is a run down on the events that occurred pertaining to the Greensboro Sit-in in 1960. This document was written on February 10, 1960 (the events too place between February 2-9) so it was still very fresh in people’s minds when this timeline was created.

George Washington’s will specifically left any “liquors and groceries” in the house at the time of his death to his wife, Martha. I feel like that shouldn’t have had to be spelled out... And a little morbid information about who carried Washington's casket
I love old handwriting ❤️ inscription dated 1819 in a book printed in 1800.

Oh, Dove chocolate, how did you know that I would be filled with regret as I opened your beautiful shiny wrapping to eat your insides? Thank you for providing the encouragement I needed to eat the dark chocolate morsel that was patiently waiting for me to complete it’s journey into my stomach.
Because men just like different things...

UNC Chapel Hill's library was used as a horse stable during the Civil War. Now that's a little uncalled for... Book and libraries in camps and battle : the Civil War experience by David Kaser. Westport, Conn. : Greenwood Press, 1984. Page 90.
"Who's your hatter?" Get it? “Who’s your daddy?”/“Who’s your hatter?” Ok, I’ll go back to my corner now.
Hints on hats adapted to the heads of people by Henry Melton. London : John Camden Hotten, 1865.
“Some choose their ladies for ease or for grace, Or a pretty turn’d foot as they’re walking ; Some choose them for figure, and some for face, But none of them choose them for talking ; --
As long as they have a “pretty turn’d foot as they walk”, that’s all that matters, right?
