I did not, infact, finish the next section of my tapestry by mid-May. And i probably won't finish it until next week.

I got distracted by the want to screen in my back porch. Unfortunately all the tools I used to have are my Dad's, which of course he took when he moved out. So I've been researching everything I need to screen in the porch and buying the supplies. I am very glad I was raised by two people who are pretty handy so I know the basic of how to use the tools and also how to search for what I need to know.

I just got the last of the stuff in but its rained here the last couple days. I'm hoping to get this started before my brother leaves for Finland next week, but I don't that'll happen so I might need to convince my roommate to help instead. I can actually do most of it by myself but there's a couple things right at the beginning that requires two people.

I did not finish this section by Easter like I planned. I, in fact, did not work on it for a bit. I guess I needed a little break.

But anyway! It's finished now! If you see where I messed up 2 stitches and didn't fix it, no you didn't. Atleast its not ~500 like the last section.

Anyway, im at 35,388.5/164346 stitches, or 21.4%. Inching my way closer.

Next section is about 2,200 stitches, though we're about to go into a super busy season at work (graduation + our grand opening after our remodel) so I'm gonna shoot for mid-May to finish it. The next part is Hyrule Castle, so I'm excited to see that come together.

I locked the fuck in and finished this section by the end of March like I originally wanted even though I had to undo a bunch of work.

34,328.5/165,446 stitches done. 20.76%.

The next section I'm gonna work on is about 1,300 stitches total (cross and back stitching) so I think my goal is to finish it by Easter (or maybe on Easter, but I think I can finish it before then.)

Unrelated to my last post, I want to dye my hair soon as a birthday present to myself but I'll be going to a new salon which is very scary to me. I've been trying to schedule the consultation for the last hour but I can't get myself to actually do the thing. So I've just had the booking page open on my computer until I get the courage.

Small cross stitch update, I had to undo 3 days worth of work because I realized I started this current section 10 stitches to the left. Its only ~500 stitches since its just progress from after work, but im still dying on the inside.

Anyway, currently 33,252/165,346 stitches (after removing the stitches), or about 20%.

It has been a hot minute since I've updated this. My last update was *checks notes* September 2023! I stitch pretty slow, and also pick up other projects that I never finish, and I was in school for a good chunk of this, so not as much progress as you might expect from 2 and a half years, but here we are!

I just finished the border! I started stitching the crosses without a hoop, though I still prefer backstitching on a hoop because keeping tension without it is difficult for me. I have a little more time to work on this now that I've graduated, but I do work more at my job since I'm not in school. Based on my current speed, im hoping to be half done by the end of this year, and completely done by the end of 2027.

Btw this is 30,270/165,346 stitches, which is 18.3% complete.

I haven't posted in a bit because I haven't worked on my current project in a bit. I had a very sudden death in my family and traveling last minute over Thanksgiving weekend is expensive, so I've had to put that project on the back burner while my finances catch back up. Its not bad, I don't need any help, I just can't buy the fabric I want just yet, so im gonna work on other things that I can use my fabric stash for.

Work is also kicking my butt (retail during winter babyyyyy) so I haven't had much motivation to sew on my days off, but Christmas is almost over so things should slow down after that and hopefully I won't just be tired on my days off.

It was nice seeing my parents even though originally we weren't going to be able to see each other on Thanksgiving due to money (or lack thereof), I just wish it were under better circumstances.

Got pretty far with my toile today. The skirt is high-low, but the back is a little too low so I'm gonna take it up about 3 inches. I decided not to out boning on the center front, and absolutely forgot about the collar I wanted until the end, which is why its just pinned on lol.

I'm gonna get my patterns finished and start figuring out fabrics. I have a couple samples im gonna play with today and see if they'll work for what I want.

This is how far I got today. I forgot to add boning to the center front and it really needs it, but my back hurts and the room was getting too hot since I had the AC off so it can thaw, so I'll add in the boning some other time. The center back isn't closing quite how I want, but I kinda just threw it on the dress form without adjusting it so that might be why. Once I can cool the room down I'll take a closer look at it.

Goals for next time are to add on that center front boning, sew the skirt on, and maybe add the center back grommets if I can get all that done in one day, but that'll probably be sometime next week.
