NYC, EAST VILLAGE: Double Zero is a plant based Italian restaurant specializing in the most delicious pizza. I went classic and order their margarita, but added the mushroom bacon. The dough was crispy and light, the sauce was just the right amount of sweet, the cheese, the cashew ricotta cheese was the best I've ever had at a restaurant. The mushroom bacon was not really smoky or crispy enough to be called that, but it was still pretty good. Worth a visit for sure, because it's the best vegan pizza I've ever had! 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕and pizza is life. Web: https://matthewkenneycuisine.com/hospitality/double_zero/
JAX, BROOKLYN STATION AT RIVERSIDE: Delicious vegan dinner at HOBNOB on Riverside Avenue. The hummus potstickers had just the right amount of heat, and their soba noodles dish was huge and had the most perfectly seasoned tofu. Beautiful presentation! They can modify a few options and since it's a chef driven restaurant can make you a special dish if requested. Web: http://hobnobjax.com/
AVENTURA, MIAMI: A taste of home! Venezuelan food at Avila Bistro on Biscayne Blvd. Their arepas are crispy, the beans were perfectly seasoned, and their papelon (lemon plus a special brown sugar) was super refreshing. Great vegetarian options as well. The capresa arepa was a hit with my meat lover brothers.

MIAMI, Wynwood: This was a super happy find! Checking out the Wynwood neighborhood and found the Wynwood Yard, a food truck village in the heart of the hood. Della Test Kitchen is a food truck that makes 100% plant based rice and veggie bowls. Sooooo good! It was not cheap, $11 for this and $7 for a kale lemonade (😱), but it was very, very good. Best tempeh I’ve ever had! 🍲

NEW YORK CITY, Between the West Village and Chelsea: Their mushroom cream is vegan based and so light yet filling on a cold winter day. It had some dried mushrooms in it as well that tasted like flowers, such a delicate flavor. I stumbled upon this spot because I was freezing and I needed a place to charge my phone. Best discovery! Their almond milk chai also hit the spot. Other great vegetarian options on their menu. Address: 637 Hudson Street, NYC
NEW YORK CITY, MIDTOWN: Vegan fast food. Breaded cutlets, lettuce, tomato, tapioca cheese. Fries. Hot buffalo sauce. Heaven! VLife has several spots in the city. I wouldn't eat this everyday, or even every month, but it was delicious and kind of a still healthy cheat meal. Kind of.
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL: Modified the veggie burger at Nona Blue to make it vegan. Delicious! Beet based patty on dry multigrain toast. Super pretty to look at, and pretty to eat.
JAX BEACH, FL: Breakfast at The Love Cup Hash House. Almond Milk Chai that was just perfect on a chilly post-yoga morning and their tofu scramble in a wrap. It's the only full vegan entree on their menu, but it's all you really need. Savory tofu, veggies and potatoes. Didn't eat anything else all day! It was the size of an actual baby. #FoodBaby
NYC: after yoga breakfast stop at Juice Generation in the Village. Great, organic and vegan juices as well as vegan protein muffins. Great way to kick off the day! #govegan #whatveganpattyeats
JAX: The new vegan hash at the Candy Apple Cafe inside Sweet Pete's Candy Factory in Downtown Jacksonville. Potatoes, green beans, carrots, hen of the woods mushrooms and the most delicious tomato sauce. Super filling and savory. @candyapplecafe
WASHINGTON, D.C.: Really close to the White House I found this gem of a place, offering a full vegan brunch buffet each Sunday. $36 gets you unlimited veggie delights! Equinox is a regular restaurant that goes vegan each Sunday. The food was really good, and it was a great change of pace to have a full buffet filled with vegan options. Their macaroni salad was a big winner, and so where all the desserts!!! (The mini cheesecakes were the bomb) 🍪🍮🍰🍬
WASHINGTON, D.C.: Headed out to Chinatown for a night of Dim Sum at Ping Pong, they had a lot of vegan and veggie options, all super authentic and yummy. The veggie buns were the stars of the meal. I must have had like five of them! After dinner, walked to Pitango Gelato and had the perfect scoop of lemon sorbet. They also had plenty of dairy free ice cream options. 🍦🍨
WASHINGTON, D.C.: This monster of a flavorful burger is the vegan foodie baby of the quirky Busboys and Poets in D.C.'s Downtown (they have a few other locations in the city). They have a pretty extensive vegan menu, but after eating this baby and a cup of soup, I was stuffed! Delicious 🌱🍔
HOUSTON, TX: This restaurant is perhaps the coolest concept, it is located inside a gourmet grocery store in the middle of super busy Downtown Houston. The MKT Bar sits perfectly inside The Phoenicia Market. On Sunday the do a phenomenal brunch with live music and great food. The plantain chips with chimichurri sauce were soooo good, by the time my vegan breakfast pizza arrived I was full so I took the pizza to go! Side note: The Phoenicia market was the grocery store of my dreams with fresh meal options and Greek food. 😍
HOUSTON, TX: Yelped Vegan food in Houston and this beauty of a restaurant came up! Provisions in the city's Midtown neighborhood has a beautifully curated menu with plenty of farm to table options. They were kind enough to modify their curried squash chill soup and their hen of the woods whole grain pasta to skip the cheese and make the dishes vegan. The whole restaurant has a very food conscious vibe and it seems to be completely local and sustainable. Yehaw Texas! 🌱
JAX: I'm Venezuelan and all of our country's dishes either have so much cheese, or so much meat. So I was super excited to find this Venezuelan restaurant -off Jacksonville's San Marco neighborhood- that would modify a few dishes to make them as vegan as possible. Picture here is a black bean and avocado arepa (made with gluten free, corn meal). It is a native dish that tastes like home in the most cruelty free way! La Nota is located off Phillips hwy.
