If Monaka says so! Then it&#x27;s so!

“Oooh, yeah! Monaka wants to wear matching costumes with you! But what should you and her wear?” Monaka certainly looked excited about this whole situation. Which was bad. A 9-year-old should not be so excited about what this boy was proposing to her.

“Well if you’re going to be a witch, I can be a black cat. Because that’s how it worked in cartoons.” A cat is the assistant to a witch. “I usually go as Frankenstein’s monster, but I don’t mind changing it this year.” This is good. Hinata isn’t even considering asking her family for permission to take her out with him.. Has it not crossed his mind?

“Hehehe~ You’re gonna be Monaka’s kitty!” The girl said, a small, innocent laugh coming from her. “Monaka has been needing someone to be her kitty, so she’s glad that you’ll do it for her!” She added, bouncing in excitement in her wheelchair.

“Oooooh, Monaka likes this plan~ We can get double the candy like this!” Monaka smiled, but her innocent smile hid a much more sinister girl, as evident by her utter acceptance of this plot. “Let’s do it! Monaka wants lots and lots of candy!”

Good. This will go perfectly. “Alright, since you’re the brains and I’ll be the muscle, should we wear matching costumes?” He wonders if he can convince a 9 year old kid to smash public property with him too. Pumpkin smashing is evil.

“Will Monaka need help?” The girl asked, acting as if she was thinking about the boy’s question. “Well, Monaka can’t carry her candy and push herself around, so if you wanna help Monaka, she would like that!” She responded. Her wheelchair was electric, so she didn’t need anyone to help her, but anything to make her seem more helpless and innocent.

“Well no, I doubt you’d need my help. But hear me out, I have a plan.” Hinata looks around to make sure no one else is listening in on this DUBIOUS PLOT. He coughs a bit into his hand. “If we go together, I can carry your bag and bring my own. In the end I’ll sort out the candy I don’t want and it’ll just add to your hoard. And with my help you’ll go faster.” Hajime wishes to scam people out of their goodies.

He regards the green gremlin the same way a young man would regard someone of their same grade. He just looks down. He doesn’t squat or pull any asshole-like outlandish behavior to verify there’s an obvious height difference… After some thought.. He doesn’t feel it appropriate to talk down to children, considering vocabularies can only expand if you talk to someone in a more sophisticated sense. So he’s going to be avoiding baby talk and the every day colloquialisms with the kid. "I’m just curious, are you going to be a witch for halloween like your name implies? … Do you need anyone to push you around for trick or treating?“ Hinata wants the free candy.

Monaka knew the child before her. She knew the wheelchair, so smaller than her own, yet as equally purposeless in actual use. She knew the dress, the bow, the fake little smile that she’d worn every day of her damn life-

“… Is this a particularly twisted nightmare? I didn’t realize even my subconscious had become so cruel.”

“A nightmare? Monaka has no idea what you’re talking about. Monaka was just sitting here, but then you started staring at her like you’d seen a ghost! Monaka thought you were being pretty creepy.” The girl said, looking confused. Did she know this girl? Did this girl know her?
